Report: Prince Devitt offered WWE contract

WWE has offered a contract to international wrestling star Prince Devitt and he is expected to make a decision within the next two weeks. Devitt recently won the American Wrestling Roadshow title and a press release announcing the change referred to him as “WWE-bound.”

Devitt was backstage at last night’s TNA live event in Dublin, as seen in the photo below from his Twitter: reports that Devitt is not expected to sign with TNA because he wouldn’t give up his lucrative spot with New Japan Pro Wrestling for a company like TNA.

  1. Really? says:

    TNA is now taping six shows at a time over a few days. He could easily still work New Japan AND TNA. You can’t say the same for working in the WWE.

    But in TNA, you can’t do other televised shows no matter where they are in the world I thought, not unless that’s changed

    LONG overdue

  4. Really? says:

    @Scott II

    If they are in cost cutting mode, that will probably change as they sign new contracts with potentially smaller payouts.

  5. Aster says:

    Hopefully the WWE keeps the Prince Devitt name and if he comes to the WWE, he better be booked correctly because this guy has the total package in my opinion.

  6. dave says:

    Devitt would be perfect going against Dean Ambrose or Ziggler. Could even see a nice feud with KENTA if WWE wanted to go there again for the US audience.
