Impact Recap; new investor revealed
Jan 30, 2014 - by Michael Riba
Impact Wrestling opens with a video package covering the on-going saga between Dixie Carter and her new partner, TNA’s “Mystery Investor,” who will be revealed later tonight. We also see footage from after Impact Wrestling last week, showing Sting walking out of a TNA door for the final time.
We go backstage and we see a brawl going on between Magnus, Ethan Carter III, and Rockstar Spud and the duo of Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe. Magnus’ music hits, and he makes his way to the ring with Rockstar Spud and Ethan Carter III.
Magnus mocks the crowd, who are all over him with a chorus of boos. Magnus says Sting fell to the reign of Magnus, and says just like Jeff Hardy and A.J. Styles, all good things must come to an end. Magnus says he ended Sting and that Dixie Carter is thinning the herd in TNA. Magnus says he and Dixie decided to get rid of all the old dinosaurs in TNA and to make room for the new stars like The Bromans, Zema Ion, Ethan Carter III, Rockstar Spud, and himself. Magnus says that is why he eliminated Jeff Hardy, A.J. Styles, and Sting single-handedly. Carter interrupts and asks if Magnus just said ‘single-handedly.’ Magnus says yes, and there is animosity between them. Kurt Angle’s music hits and he and Samoa Joe hit the ring. Magnus, Spud, and Carter bail from the ring. Angle says it has not been a thinning of the herd, but a screwing of the herd. Angle says Magnus screwed Sting over and says Magnus will go down as nothing but a paper champion. Magnus tells Angle to watch his mouth before he says something he is going to regret. The crowd chants “Paper Champion!” as Angle says the only thing he regrets is allowing Magnus to become a member of the Main Event Mafia. Magnus says he is THE somebody in TNA. He is the World Heavyweight Champion. Joe says the only thing killing them is the fact that Magnus is walking around and breathing. He says they have come to Glasgow, Scotland to beat his ass. Magnus proposes a tag match: Joe and Angle vs. himself and EC3. Magnus says if he and EC3 win, Joe and Angle are gone from TNA for good. Joe and Angle counter-propose and Joe says if either he or Angle get the win, they automatically become the number one contender. Joe says he knows the stakes are a little too intense for a paper champion. Magnus accepts, but Dixie Carter comes out to say the match is not going to happen. Magnus asks her if she is trying to tell him what he can and cannot do. Dixie says she does not need to be worried about Magnus because there is already a lot going on tonight. She says the investor is on his way and she cannot take the chance of Magnus losing the title to Angle or Joe. Magnus turns to Angle and Joe, and says the match is still on as he leaves with both Carters and Spud.
We see a van pulling up to the arena as we head to a commercial break.
We’re back and we see Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards, The Wolves, stepping out of the van. The cameraman tries to get a look at the investor, but they stop him. They say all of the questions will be answered later.
