More on CM Punk’s hiatus from WWE; MMA group interested?

CM Punk met with Vince McMahon about thirty minutes before Raw went live. Apparently, McMahon was very busy on Monday, and didn’t get around to meeting with Punk until 7:30PM when he was told the former WWE champion was going home. The feeling was that there was a communication issue and lingering unresolved issues that dated back some time, probably most of the last year, combined with frustration regarding creative going forward and of late. Many in WWE have noted to us that Punk has not been happy with his creative.

The reason the Kofi Kingston vs. Alberto Del Rio match on Raw went so long is because it came during the period laid out for Punk’s interview and had to go a second segment to cover the time.

Sheamus will be replacing Punk at all the Smackdown tapings where he was largely advertised as the main star.

Bellator has already expressed at least preliminary interest in him. He would be free and clear of any WWE contractual obligations in July.

Bellator huh… I’d personally pay to hear him commentate MMA, nor partake in it… But I’m sure I’m a minority here.

  2. Ryno says:

Can I be the first one to say, who cares?

CM Punk has gotten REALLY stale and boring.
Really, the most interesting and entertaining thing about Punk this last year has been Paul Heyman.

@Ryno… you can only be as interesting as the time and storylines devoted to you. And if he’s not been 100% on it then why bother?

Punk’s actions, in my mind were justified but I am still agreeing that he went about it the wrong way at the wrong time. Punk will never wait for a revolution to start and I only hope others in the locker room have the balls to speak up. Not likely, though.

Ah so that was the “re-write”, i’m sure this will all blow over anyway. Where’s he really going to go if he doesn’t though? Back to wrestling on ROH and certain other indies he deems worthy?

  5. LOL says:

I’d LOVE to see Punk try his hand at MMA, he thinks he’s frustrated now…..go get em Phil!!!

  6. Alex says:

He can do whatever he wants. If he indeed walked out, I applause him for having the balls to do it… I can only hope now that the fans hijack RAW and make the management go through hell for 3 hours…

  7. Kerry says:

You can only be as interesting & entertaining as the powers that be allow you to be.
