Wrestling By The Numbers: Wesley ‘Wes’ Brisco

TNA Wrestling has announced the release of second generation performer and former Aces And Eights member Wesley ‘Wes’ Brisco. The 30-year-old Tampa Florida native had spent the last 15-months with TNA after becoming the first competitor to be awarded a contract through the company’s Gut Check Challenge. During his TNA tenure Brisco was mainly known for forming a tag-team with fellow second generation wrestler Garrett Bischoff. The duo joined the Aces And Eights faction in January of last year and remained as one of the groups final members before it was disbanded. Briscoe was given a singles push by the organization and feuded with TNA Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle which culminated with a victory over the legend at the company’s 2013 Lockdown pay-per-view event. He hadn’t been seen on television since being kicked out of the Aces And Eights in late September and the official announcement of his release was made on January 13th.

Wesley Brisco has spent the past 5-years in the professional wrestling industry after debuting in 2009 following training from Steve Keirn. The son of WWE Hall Of Famer Gerald Brisco and the nephew of Jack Brisco was signed with no prior experience in the business by World Wrestling Entertainment in early 2009 and assigned to Florida Championship Wrestling. He formed a tag-team with Xavier Woods in the developmental system and became a former 1-Time FCW Tag-Team Champion. He remained with the company until late 2011 when he was sidelined with an injury and later released. After leaving the WWE he spent the next 2-years competing for local independent company’s in Florida, did a tour of Puerto Rico with the World Wrestling Council and also competed in Ring Of Honor Wrestling.
