My Personal Experience of Meeting Mae Young

Mae Young & Moolah

It was the day after WWE Wrestlemania 23 in Detroit, Michigan. I was at the ticket counter at the airport, trying to figure out how I was going to get home, because my flight to Salt Lake City had been canceled. So how was I going to make my connection in Salt Lake to Bakersfield, Ca.

As I waited while the ticket agent tried to find me a flight, I glanced down the way, & to my surprise I see Mae Young & Fabulous Moolah at the ticket counter a few counters down. I quickly asked the ticket agent trying to find me a flight, if I could step away for a minute, & headed down to where the WWE legends were.

Both were very pleasant, & greeted me with huge smiles. Were more then happy to pose for a quick photo & sign an autograph for me, even though the WWE security handling their bags tried to rush them off. They took their time, & asked where I was from, if I enjoyed Wrestlemania. & wished me a safe trip home. Was very quick, but couldn’t have been a nicer experience.

I had been watching these true legends of the ring my entire life, & was so happy I got the chance to meet them, & thank them for all the years of entertainment.

Sadly the wrestling world lost Moolah 7 months later. & now her good friend Mae Young has finally reunited with her in heaven,

Rest In Peace Mae! Thank you for all the years of entertainment, & for taking a few moments out of your time to meet me that day in Detroit, I will never forget you!
