Doug Lebow Longtime WWE Exec Passes Away

Dec 29, 2013 - by staff

From PWInsider.com:

WWE Vice President of Reality, Promotions and Special Projects Douglas Lebow, who had worked with the company since 1992 in different facets & was one of the top figures within the company’s production side (he had been the official Director of Smackdown at least the last year) passed away suddenly yesterday. He was only 44 years old.

Word began making its way around the company at today’s Smackdown taping, which Lebow was scheduled to head production on. I was told that it’s a pretty sad taping behind the scenes as Lebow was extremely well liked within the company and obviously there’s a big hole with his sudden passing.

Lebow started working with WWE in the early 1990s where he helped them create their own in-house advertising agency, which designed, & executed their marketing & commercial campaigns.

Lebow left the company to create his own production company, but remained close & worked with the company on different projects before returning to the fold a few years ago officially when he was brought back in the Vice President role. He had a very specific role within the company in that a lot of production & marketing plans & materials came through him before heading to Kevin Dunn and Vince McMahon.

On behalf of everyone at Gerweck.net we’d like to express our deepest condolences to Douglas Lebow’s friends and family.
