Steamboat Released?

PWInsider.com is reporting:

That the WWE released 2nd generation star Richie Steamboat some time ago. He’d been out of action for a long time due to a back injury & the company decided to release him, Apparently no one was aware of it until recently.  But it wasn’t something that just happened. So it wasn’t a case of WWE releasing him just before the holidays.

He was trained by George South, & had been under contract to the WWE since 2009. He held the  FCW Grand Slam Champion having won the FCW Florida Heavyweight title, the Floriday Tag Team Championship, & the FCW Jack Brisco 15 Championship!

Back injuries are usually something not to screw around with. Ask Rick Rude, Shawn Michaels, and such.

I had wondered if Richie was still employed or not since wasn’t on the WWE.com NXT filter for months after he got injured. Ditto with Adam Mercer.
