Debuting a character at you’re biggest PPV? Gee, I wonder where they got that idea. At least Fandango wrestled an established star. Who’s dumb idea was it to have a new character face a jobber in a squash match on you’re most important show of the year. TNA’s lack of logic just drives me crazy!

What lack of logic? A short match to introduce a character on the biggest show you have is far from a bad idea. Who loses in this situation?

Confused people on the internet? Yeah that’s about the only people that will be bothered by this. So in other words not that many.

  5. MC Live says:

Who loses? TNA as a whole. The entire point of wrestling is crowd investment. You get the crowd invested so they will pay to see somebody. You don’t make them pay to see a guy they’ve never seen before face a guy they’ve never heard of before. That just makes people upset that they spend their money and get a match they have no emotional involvement in.

Here’s an example: Chances are most people have never heard of Kyoji Horiguchi. So why did UFC put him on the Facebook prelims Saturday? Cause most people don’t know him, don’t care about him, and don’t want to spend their money on him. Ethan vs. a jobber is a throw away match and throw away matches devalue a PPV, especially the biggest PPV of the year. Nobody wants to spend a single penny on a throw away match, and that’s 3 and a half minutes of wasted money that everybody spent tonight.

You make people pay to see what they want to see, not what you want them to see, because if you only give them what you want as opposed to what they want, they propably won’t give you a lot of money going forward.

Sorry about the long response, but I feel it was necessary.
