Austin Aries: “I don’t measure my career’s success on whether or not I go to WWE”

Mike Mooneyham posted an interview with TNA star Austin Aries. Here are a few excerpts:

- “I love wrestling, and I want to do it for as long as I’m successful and it makes me happy. But there are other things that make me happy too,” he’s quick to add.

- On never working for WWE: “I don’t worry about that. They’ve had opportunities to sign me, and for whatever reason or measuring stick they were using, they didn’t see fit to give me an opportunity. I don’t know all the ins and outs of those decisions, and I don’t really dwell on it.”

- On a possible WWE opportunity: “If and when that opportunity did present itself, you’d be a fool not to listen. But I don’t measure my career’s success on whether or not I go to WWE.”

That’s why I like guys like Austin. Just because you never wrestled in WWE doesn’t mean you’re not successful. More wrestlers should have that train of thought.

If you don’t believe in you then who will buddy?

Still, Aries was the voice of Jacob Cass on a WWE game.

  4. Jay FX says:

    You’re all morons…

He was practically signed, then went on Twitter and spoke a massive amount of bile about fans and unannounced WWE signings. That’s why he didn’t get his opportunity, no measuring stick.
