In Memoriam

On this day in 2004, the wrestling world lost former WWF valet Marianna ‘Mrs Cleavage’ Komlos aged just 35. Komlos was a competitive bodybuilder before getting into wrestling, winning the British Columbia Middleweight class in 1997 aswell as appearing on (to my knowledge) 4 fitness magazine covers. She joined the WWF as ‘Mrs Cleavage’ in 1999, playing the mother of Chaz Warrington’s ‘Beaver Cleavage’ character. The gimmick was soon dropped and she was revealed as the girlfriend of Chaz. In September of that year, the WWF began an angle where it seemed that Chaz had been beating his now ex-girlfriend, though it was eventually revealed through a vignette that Marianna had faked the whole thing. Due to the understandably huge backlash against the angle, Komlos was released from the company and never made another major wrestling appearance. She was diagnosed with breast cancer around the turn of the millennium and despite battling hard, succumbed to the disease less than a week after her wedding to MMA competitor Paul Lazenby
