Wrestling By The Numbers: Ozzy ‘Malik Omar’ Cherry

World Wrestling Entertainment has announced the release of developmental wrestler Ozzy ‘Malik Omari’ Cherry. The 27-year-old Republic Of Gambia West Africa native had spent the previous year with the WWE training in NXT Wrestling and at the new WWE Performance Center. Cherry had only competed in a one NXT Wrestling house show match against Alexander Rusev and had not debuted on television.

Ozzy Cherry made his professional wrestling debut inside the squared circle at the age of eight competing for All Star Wrestling in England back in 1994. Cherry competed in a half dozen matches under the name Zulu Warrior before returning to ASW 14-years later in 2008 as The Zulu Prince. He was trained by Dean Allmark and Robbie Dynamite and spent time in both Premier Promotions and the Solvent Wrestling Federation prior to signing with the WWE.
