Kevin Nash on TNA’s decline

Kevin Nash posted the following via Twitter:

TNA had it’s highest ratings when Jeff was in charge. Steady decline except for the loaded Hogan live show.

TNA is out of cash and being on the road doesn’t get to slide payments for up to 4 months to show a profit as they did at Universal.

He’s right. What else is there to say? Jeff Jarrett = TNA ratings. (How screwed up is that?)

  2. R.j. says:

Agree. My question is why are all big events now on regular t.v. ? I mean if PPV rates are down then fix the product not make it free. Also ZERO ability to build up a match or event.

  3. Really? says:

All big events are not on TV. 4 of them are on pay per view…hence more time and ability TO build them up. The free “big events” like Clash of the Champions. Not quite a pay per view, more of a supershow.

I’m so confused! I thought Hogan was Nash’s buddy, not Jeff.

All kidding aside, I like the supershows. Also, they HAD to try going on the road. If you go back and look at all comments from a year ago, 98% of fans and critics said the same thing. What separated TNA from WWE was the X Division and Knockouts. Sadly when Hogan, Bischoff and Pritchard took over, they pushed those divisions into the background.

Since Hogan and Sting’s contracts are coming up, we can only hope they aren’t re-signed. (I like Sting, but there’s nothing left for him to do in TNA.)

FIRST OFF, I HAVEN’T SEEN THE RECENT TNA PRODUCT IN SOME TIME SO FORGIVE ME IF MY REFERENCE POINTS ARE A BIT OLD. FIRST OFF, WITH TNA HAVING THE OLD MONTHLY PPVs ON REGULAR CABLE, I DO THINK OF THEM AS SUPERSHOWS. WASN’T THT THE SAME APPROACH WWE DID ONCE THEY MADE RAW INTO A 3 HOUR SHOW, MAKING IT A SUPERSHOW AND HAVING THE SUPERSTARS OF BOTH SMACKDOWN & RAW. SO WHAT’S WRONG WITH TNA TRYING THE APPROACH OF A MONTHLY SUPERSHOW BUILDING UP TO THIER PPV LIKE THE UPCOMING ‘BOUND FOR GLORY’. I DO FEEL IT IS TRUE TNA NEEDS TO SEPERATE FROM HOGAN & BISCHOFF AND GET BACK TO THE WAYS OF OLD WHERE THEY FOCUSED ON THE X-DIVISON AND BEING DIFFERENT FROM THAT OF WWE. THEY NEEDED TO TRY GOING OUT ON THE ROAD, BUT HEY WHAT’S WRONG WITH BEING A STAPLE AT THE UNIVERSAL STUDIOS IN ORLANDO? I’LL TELL YOU BOUT THE HOUSE SHOWS LATER WHEN I GO SEE ONE

Heel Dixie has a huge announcement you just wait Nash!

  7. Agent Cooper says:

He’s right. Bischoff and Hogan have done nothing except ruin the product and bankrupt the company with their terrible ideas. The ratings were higher before they arrived when Russo was in charge of creative. Yes, Bischoff and Hogan are WORSE than Vince Russo. At least he tried to do things to make TNA unique.

  8. DBRude says:

TNA needs new talent. Their roster is straight up boring! They’ve been using and re-using the same people for what seems like an eternity.

I hate how they keep shifting people around. What happened to Roode and Storm’s TNA title pushes? Why are they–and Hernandez–back in the tag division?

What happened to Brooke becoming a Knockout? I thought she had potential as a babyface, but now she’s Bully Ray’s bitch. He’s LITERALLY leading her around on a leash for crying out loud! Way to kill her image.

  9. Agent Cooper says:

Their roster is boring because they’re working with a skeleton crew due to budget cuts. Long gone are the days when they had a deep, diverse roster. With Mickie’s contract ending and Taryn pregnant, they literally have just 4 Knockouts on the roster who actually wrestle. Remember when TNA had great Knockout and Tag Team divisions that actually differentiated it from the WWE? Yeah, that’s gone now. Thanks Hogan!

  10. Stunning Steve says:

Amazingly, he is correct. The company was far better off when Jeff Jarrett was in charge. They still have great talent and if they can cut dead weight like Hogan and get rid of his ridiculous salary they might be ok.
