from wwe.com:

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross announced that he is retiring from WWE today, after 20 years of service, to focus on his personal business endeavors.

Jim has had a long and storied career at WWE, both on the corporate staff as well as his television persona, calling some of the most memorable matches in WWE history as the voice of Monday Night Raw and SmackDown for more than two decades. He made his debut with WWE at WrestleMania IX in 1993 and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007 by his long-time friend “Stone Cold” Steve Austin.

Jim has made many contributions to WWE and the sports-entertainment industry, and we thank him for his many years of service and wish him well.

NO! DON’T DO IT! DONT DO IT, DAMMIT!

  2. Mr. Black says:

Good for good ole’ JR. He deserves to have time to himself and work on projects outside of wrestling. I do hope this isn’t the end of reading JR’s thoughts and insights into the current state of the business through his blogs.

  3. Drew says:

He deserves a big sendoff on RAW; hopefully not one where WWE embarrasses him again. He deserves a lot more than what WWE has given him.

  4. Kerry says:

NO! The best announcer since Gordon Solie.

  5. DBRude says:

Have him beat Orton for the championship.

  6. Tim says:

Come on, Drew. WWE has given that man plenty. I’m sure he’s made millions of $ working for them. Also, doing a fun great job.

  7. gerry says:

Was wwe coming to oklahoma soon? Maybe he just didn’t get embarresed for the millionth time

  8. Meh says:

Now when will Jerry Lawler retire? He hasn’t been interesting to me since the New Generation era when he used to insult the faces, fans (who he called peons and peasents), celebrities and the divas (who he used to call ugly).

  9. Fisha695 says:

He didn’t retire he was fired because he let Ric Flair spiral out of control at the WWE 2k14 event ;)

  10. Adam says:

    ONE MORE MATCH!
    ONE MORE MATCH!
    ONE MORE MATCH!
    ONE MORE MATCH!

The Undertaker’s last match, whenever that is. Let JR call that and let them both go out together.

  11. Neumanrko9 says:

Sad, sad day for wrestling fans I’ll never forget the famous calls “STONE COLD STONE COLD STONE COLD!” or “AS GOD AS MY WITNESS HE IS BROKEN IN HALF!” you will be missed JR in my opinion the greatest announcer of all time

  12. Sinister says:

Sad very sad day in wrestling

  13. Chris James says:

He was actually “let go” by McMahon because of the 2k sports panel fiasco a day before SummerSlam where he couldn’t maintain control of Flair’s outbursts throughout the show. Wrestling Observer has the full story. Jr was fired for real this time, guys. And it stinks to high heaven.

  14. Really? says:

Mike Tenay: What the hell?? What is Jim Hoss doing in the Impact Zone?!?

  15. ~J* says:

what no jr to tna post yet? c’mon!

  16. Bobbo the Destroyer says:

why does it matter if he jr retires anyhow? not like he’s actually been on raw more than once or twice in recent years…

  17. TRUTH says:

WWE just really screwed themselves.. Jim Ross will be calling Bound For Glory and will be a TNA executive before this year ends.

  18. ~J* says:

    yes go to tna ross!

    o.O
