When Ric Flair was on Steve Austin’s podcast, he mentioned that Nick Bockwinkel, now 78, was suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease. A lot of people have asked if that’s the case, and it is, according to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Sad to hear, he was one of the greats. I especially enjoyed watching his interviews.
Very sad news. One of the all time best talkers in the history of wrestling. My thoughts are with him and his family.
Wait, who’s running the Alzheimer’s camp?
I was thinking Bockwinkel would be great as a manager in current WWE. Sorry to hear this news.
Dory Funk Jr. also has it.
It is sad to hear that Nick Bockwinkle has Alzheimer’s Disease. He had a keen mind for the business, able to cut great promos, and get great heel heat. Bockwinkle and Heenan are the standard-bearers that all manager/wrestler is held up to. Verne Gagna and now Bockwinkle, it is sad to have another great being taken down by this dreaded disease.
That’s sad and unfortunate. Another great wrestling mind tainted.
