WWE signs arena league football player to developmental deal

Morkeith Brown, 28, who played this past season with the Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League has signed a developmental contract. Brown, a 6-foot-5, 255-pound graduate from Temple University in 2011 and was invited to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers camp this year, but instead took the WWE offer.

Before attending college, he had served in combat in Afghanistan. At Temple, he was team captain as a senior and was a third team Mid American Conference defensive end. He had started as a junior as a tight end.

    I was hopeing that it was finally a true ex footballer (e.g. Vinnie Jones) from what America stupidly calls soccer as that kind of football has never had someone from it go and compete in pro westling so that would be newsworthy.

    There have been many former football players from America calls football (e.g. The Rock, Faarooq) that have became wrestlers so seeing former football players from America calls football join a wrestling promotion isn’t exactly new news.
