Dolph Ziggler “in trouble” for remarks about Randy Orton

by Adam Martin of

WWE star Dolph Ziggler noted on Twitter this week that comments he made in a recent interview with DC 101’s Mike Jones “got me in trouble” when discussing new WWE Champion Randy Orton and his history with the WWE for the last 10 years.

While discussing upcoming Supershow weekend events for WWE, Ziggler was asked about the current angle involving Daniel Bryan and WWE Champion Randy Orton. Ziggler said, “Randy Orton, who seems to have the entire WWE machine behind him literally since day one. And now it is out in public where everyone can see, oh, WWE has always been behind Randy Orton no matter what.”

Ziggler continued, “If you’ve been familiar with WWE the last 10 years or so, you would understand that without Triple H coming up front and coming out and saying ‘this is our hand picked guy, he is the face, no matter what, we are behind him’, you would already know they made up their mind about him a long time ago. No matter what he does – good or bad – they are behind him and they will go out of their way to cut people’s legs from out underneath them to make sure Randy comes out looking great. So the fact that is now out in the open and I’m now able to comment on it, it actually kind of makes me sick.

“I’m really happy for Randy. He is awesome. He is so good at this that it makes me mad with how good he is. But the opportunities that he gets over and over again makes that chip on my shoulder seem even bigger to me. I want to go out there and prove them wrong and let Triple H know he backed the wrong guy for the last 10 years. And no matter what, I’m going to come out on top one way or another and I would love to be that first guy that crosses the line. But, I’ve got to back my company. I love WWE. They are a great place to work. And because they are going with someone I respect enough and understand it, I can’t guarantee I will always be behind him though.”

It’s all the truth, but it’s political suicide.

  4. David K says:

It’s all a work, it propels the Randy Orton/Triple H/WWE machine forward.

  6. Kerry says:

There is always some amount of truth in storylines.

  7. Mark says:

Daniel Bryan doesn’t stand a chance of winning that title from Orton. With The Shield standing behind Triple H and the Mcmahon family, DB has no hope at all even if this is just a storyline.

well Adolf, if you were half as good as Orton then you would get, lets say, half as many more chances? Orton gets his pushes because he is good, the people are drawn to him, why diss on other peoples success, it makes NO sense and makes him seem like a pure wrestling mark fresh out of RF video land..

@Mark, I understand what you’re doing, and I think it’s GENIUS. Let’s go kayfabe from now on!!!
