In 1989, WWF Summerslam was held in East Rutherford, New Jersey

– Dusty Rhodes defeats The Honky Tonk Man
– The Ultimate Warrior defeats Rick Rude to win the WWF Intercontinental Title
– Hulk Hogan & Brutus Beefcake defeat Randy Savage & Zeus

In 1994, WCW Clash of the Champions XXVIII was held in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

– Ricky Steamboat defeats Steve Austin to win the WCW United States Title (Steamboat suffered his career-ending back injury in this match)
– Antonio Inoki defeats Steven Regal
– Ric Flair defeats Hulk Hogan by countout (Hogan retains the WCW World Title)

In 2003, NJPW Osaka Dream Night was held (unsurprisingly) in Osaka, Japan. This event featured New Japan’s first ever Cage Match

– Osamu Nishimura defeats Shinsuka Nakamura
– Hiroshi Tanahashi defeats Makai Mask 2 to retain the U-30 Title
– Hiroyoshi Tenzan defeats Shinya Makabe
– Yoshihiro Takayama defeats Masa Chono by KO in a Cage Match to win the vacant IWGP Heavyweight Title

Title Changes

1972 – Terry Garvin 1st & Duke Myers defeat Tom Jones & Ken Mantell & The Continental Warriors (Bobby Hart & Lorenzo Parente) in a tournament to win the TSW United States Tag Team Titles

1985 – Wendell Cooley & Al Perez defeat Steve Williams & Dick Murdoch (subbing for Ted DiBiase) to win the MSW Tag Team Titles

1994 – Shawn Michaels & Diesel defeat The Headshrinkers (Samu & Fatu) to win the WWF Tag Team Titles

1999 – Manabu Nakanishi & Yuji Nagata defeat The Mad Dogs (Michiyoshi Ohara & Tatsutoshi Goto) to win the IWGP Tag Team Titles. Also, Kendo Kashin defeats Koji Kanemoto to win the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title

2000 – on Nitro, Kevin Nash defeats Booker T to win the WCW World Title

2004 – John Walters defeats Doug Williams to win the ROH Pure Title

2007 – on Smackdown, Matt Hardy & MVP defeat Deuce n Domino to win the WWE Tag Team Titles
