In a follow-up to last week’s story, now labor unions are getting into the act. The Culinary Union, who has spearheaded the efforts to keep UFC and MMA shows overall from taking place in the state of New York., owing to a fight with the non-union casino owned by the Fertittas in Nevada;.were now at the last minute (much like the attempt to keep “children’ out of Saturday’s fight card) trying to get the main event of the August 17 event pulled, by attempting to keep Chael Sonnen from fighting Mauricio Rua this coming weekend at the TD Garden in Boston, MA.

Unite Here, a faction of the union representing Las Vegas culinary workers, tried to keep Sonnen from being licensed in Massachusetts; but failed in the attempt.

If that wasn’t enough, the Las Vegas Culinary Union tried to crashed the State commission’s meeting.

The Boston Herald reported:

“”Boston-based members of Unite Here and the National Organization for Women – who protested what they called Sonnen’s “shockingly derogatory statements about women, people of color, homosexuals, immigrants and other minorities” – crashed yesterday’s commission meeting to testify, but were muffled after testy exchanges with commissioners. Two state troopers were summoned to stand in the hallway after union members hesitated to leave after the commission voted to go into private session.”

If that wasn’t enough, politicians had earlier attempted to require all foreign fighters (translated: co-main eventers Mauricio Rua and Alistair Overeem) to have Social Security numbers. That story seems to have been dealt with as well.

Then, next Sunday brings us Summerslam, with some possible finishes.

* WWE Championship
WWE champion John Cena defends against Daniel Bryan
Look for the inevitable screw job finish involving the McMahons. Only question is which way. To turn Cena corporate heel is unthinkable. To turn Danielson corporate heel kills off the whole underdog appeal he’s developed. Some sort of finish with HHH against Vince McMahon happens, since the yearly quotient of McMahons on WWE TV apparently hasn’t been high enough lately.

* “Best vs. the Beast”
C.M. Punk vs. Brock Lesnar (with Paul Heyman).
Punk, in the role usually reserved for John Cena, plays the underdog against a killer heel (Lesnar) and scheming manager (oops…”mouthpiece”) defeats Lesnar narrowly to set up a rematch.

* WWE “World” Heavyweight Title
World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio defends against Christian
Ricardo Rodriguez interfering on behalf of Christian almost seems too obvious a finish, but probably the way to go.

* Cody Rhodes vs. Damien Sandow.
Sandow pulls a heel trick to win, since Cody’s been getting over on Sandow including having Sandow “nealy drown” to get his briefcase. At least Sandow didn’t jump off of the Cobo Arena to try to retrieve his briefcase.

* Kane vs. Bray Wyatt.
If the Wyatts are getting a push, Wyatt needs to win via his “brothers” interfering.

* Dolph Ziggler and Kaitlyn vs. Big E. Langston and Divas champion A.J. Lee. Big E has been winning recently, so about time for the babyface to get his win back.

* Another match may take place with Maria Menounos and Natalya (Nattie Neidhart) vs. The Bella Twins (or Brie Bella and a celebrity partner because of Nikki’s injury?). Sunday’s airing of “Total Divas” on E! apparently built up this possibility. Why else would “Total Divas” exist?

Until next time….
