The future of TNA Gut Check in doubt

Danny Davis (from Ohio Valley Wrestling) was informed that he’s not going to be used on TNA television moving forward. This would seem to signal the end of Gut Check, since he was one of the judges and with Bruce Prichard gone, they wouldn’t eliminate an existing judge if they were going to keep it going.

  1. Jamie says:

I wondered if this might happen with the cost-cutting measures, though in fairness, it was always a time-limited concept

  2. Matt says:

Well they can’t afford to hire more people to deals, right? OVW just lost all the formerly TNA-contracted talent, except Taeler Hendrix who is staying there as an indepedent. Also Sam Shaw is gone from their roster, so i guess he’s either only wrestling on TNA itself now or is about to be released too.

  3. Really? says:

Gut Check may or may not be gone, but Danny Davis may be cut from the televised Gut Check due to his being incredibly boring.

  4. Nick A says:

Gut Check proved more boring than anything else. No great loss, especially since it never seemed use to bring in great talent. (Instead they come in through random X Division matches.)

  5. Scott says:

Gut Check was good for bringing in Joey Ryan but they seemed unwilling to use him to his full potential.

  6. Fisha695 says:

Gut Check was a great concept, however having 99% of the winners banished to OVW never to be seen on TNA TV again killed it.

  7. ~J* says:

hey how about open indy night let two indy guys go have the judges critique and if they get a good reaction maybe we see them again…no commitments no obligations.

  8. tommy says:

I know a guy who competed for gutcheck but they took almost 9 months before they even mentioned his name as not mentioned for 2 seasons (Scott Murdoch) and Scotts back in the indys again nwa-alt & more
as for Tailor Hendrix she commented on her release from both ovw and tna last week.
