Audio: Taeler Hendrix’s first post TNA interview, says GutCheck is failed concept, leaving TNA, more

Taeler Hendrix ( @Taeler_Hendrix) was a guest on this week’s “Headlock’s Radio” hosted by Chris Kelly (@H2HCrelly) located at

In her first interview since leaving TNA Wrestling, the former OVW Woman’s champion spoke about leaving TNA. Taeler said she was really unhappy and added that “alot of people” were also unhappy down in OVW.

Taeler said TNA originally sent her a re-sign papers but she felt that she wasnt getting a good experience so she was set to reject the deal before TNA informed her she was being released instead.

When asked if the Gut Check concept is now a failure, Taeler said ” absolutely” citing that it fails to publicizes OVW and with TNA changing the format to bracket system, TNA were putting wrestlers real names on into the public without asking most of them for permission. Taeler said the idea in the first place was a great idea as it brought in new faces to TNA and OVW but felt like TNA “dropped the ball” by releasing every person that won Gut Check expect three people ( Jay Bradley and Wes Brisco both former WWE talent and Lady Tapa, who’s uncle works for WWE)

Taeler also spoke about the recent reports about money problems within TNA saying that it was effecting everyone from the top of TNA all the way down to the bottom in OVW.

Over subjects talked about included: If she would consider joining WWE or ROH, what female talents she would like to face both from WWE and the indies, if she would pose for Playboy, her lesbian storyline in OVW & more

  1. Mike says:

She’s an idiot, her wrestling career is done. Couldn’t handle the business.

  2. art123guy says:

She says they released everyone except 3 people. Well, “except 3 people” is not everyone. Plus, there were only 7 winners so they released about half. (Not actually sure since Sam Shaw was released then wasn’t.)

I do agree the concept hasn’t worked out well. The voting and judging are just painful to watch.

  3. Really? says:

Sam Shaw wasn’t released. His profile was taken off the TNA roster page during site maintenance. It happens over there all the time. People are constantly vanishing and then reappearing hours later. You have to wait a day or two to be sure they’re actually supposed to be gone.

  4. art123guy says:

I wasn’t sure about Shaw. So that would make 3 of the 7 winners let go. Still not everyone.

Before anyone condemns TNA, how many Tough Enough winners lasted or did anything with WWE?

Both companies tried something new and, in some cases, it didn’t work out. I don’t think anyone was ever guaranteed a spot on the main roster. They were just given the chance to train and MAYBE be brought up.

  5. Way cool! Some very valid points! I appreciate you writing this write-up plus the
rest of the website is also very good.
