WWE Money in the Bank Kickoff Coverage (Shield vs. Usos)

We see shots of the WWE Universe filing into the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as Money in the Bank Kickoff gets underway. The Kickoff panel tonight consists of Josh Mathews, The Big Show, Kofi Kingston, and Vickie Guerrero. They toss it down to ringside, and we get ready for our first contest.

WWE Tag Team Championship Match: The Shield (Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins) (c) vs. The Usos
Rollins and Jey start the match. Jey gets a quick roll-up on Rollins, but Rollins kicks out at one. Jey comes back and converts a back-slide, but Rollins kicks out at one again. Rollins backs away and tags in Reigns. Reigns and Jey tie up, and Reigns delivers a series of headbutts to Jey in the corner. Reigns goes for a suplex, but Jey counters and delivers a boot to the midsection before tagging in Jimmy. Jimmy takes Reigns down to the mat and goes for the cover, but doesn’t even get one. Jimmy and Jey double-team Reigns and Jey, now the legal man, goes for the cover, but Reigns kicks out. Reigns goes to the apron and Jey goes for the big kick, but Reigns drops to the floor and Rollins checks on him and we’re back to a stalemate as we head to a “commercial.”

Back from the “commercial,” and The Usos are still in control. Jimmy is the legal Uso again, and Reigns gets tagged in and slams his head into the mat. Reigns drops Jimmy on the apron and down to the floor with a huge clothesline. Reigns tags in Rollins, who tosses Jimmy back into the ring and goes for the cover, but Jimmy kicks out at two. Rollins chokes Jimmy with his boot and goes for the cover, but Jimmy kicks out at two again. Rollins tags in Reigns, and they double-team Jimmy. Reigns stomps away on Jimmy in the corner and then tags in Rollins. Rollins goes for the cover, but Jimmy kicks out at two. Rollins applies a headlock down on the mat and then throws him hard onto the mat. Rollins tags in Reigns, who beats Jimmy down in the corner. Reigns goes to splash Jimmy in the corner, but Jimmy rolls out of the way. Rollins pulls Jey off the apron as Reigns tosses Jimmy to the floor. Rollins takes Jimmy down on the floor and Reigns tosses him back into the ring. Reigns tosses Jimmy back into the ring and goes for the cover, but Jimmy kicks out at two as we head to another “commercial.”

Back from the “commercial,” The Usos are in control. Jimmy takes Rollins and Reigns down on the outside. Jimmy connects with a cross-body on Rollins back in the ring and goes for the cover, but Rollins kicks out at two. Jimmy smashes Rollins in the corner and then delivers a Samoan Drop. Jimmy goes for the cover, but Rollins kicks out at two. Jimmy goes up top, but Rollins knocks him down on the turnbuckle. We get a quadruple-suplex from the corner and all four men are down. Rollins goes for the cover on Jimmy, but Jimmy kicks out at two. Rollins goes for the tag on Reigns, but Jey pulls Reigns down to the floor. Jimmy kicks Rollins in the face and goes up top. Jimmy connects with the Superfly Splash and goes for the cover, but Reigns breaks it up. Jimmy takes Rollins to the middle rope, but Reigns decks Jimmy with a right hand and tags Rollins. Rollins throws Jimmy in the corner and Reigns connects with a Spear and gets the pin fall.
Winners and still WWE Tag Team Champions: Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins.

Back to the Superstar panel, and they all praise the tag team match. They talk about the John Cena/Mark Henry feud, and Show and Vickie choose Henry to win while Kingston chooses Cena. We then see the return vignette for Rob Van Dam.

In other notes, the blue briefcase is clearly hanging above the ring, so it looks as though the World Heavyweight Championship Money in the Bank Ladder Match will be the first of two to take place. Kingston picks Daniel Bryan to win the WWE Championship Money in the Bank Ladder Match, while Show picks Rob Van Dam.

The participants for the World Heavyweight Championship Money in the Bank Ladder Match hit the ring as the Kickoff Show comes to a close.

Holy crap, they just gave a PPV-quality match. This better be on the DVD/Blu-ray.
