SMACKDOWN: GO HOME SHOW FOR MONEY IN THE BANK
We see the Smackdown openings video and then go into the arena in Norfolk, Virginia, where Daniel Bryan’s music hits and he makes his way to the ring.
Match #1: Christian vs. Daniel Bryan
They tie up and Bryan works over Christian’s arm. Christian slings Bryan down to the mat and goes to the second rope. Christian delivers a missile dropkick and goes for the cover, but Bryan kicks out at one. Bryan comes back and stomps away on Christian and then slings him down to the mat. Bryan drops a knee onto Christian and goes for the cover, but Christian kicks out at two. Christian kicks Bryan in the midsection and slaps him across the face and then slams him down to the mat and gets a two count. Christian comes off the ropes and clotheslines Bryan down to the mat. Christian goes for the cover, but Bryan kicks out at two. Bryan comes back and runs at Christian, but Christian sends him down to the floor. Christian goes out after him, but Bryan counters and delivers a running knee from the apron to send Christian down to the floor as we head to a commercial.
We’re back and Christian slams Bryan to the mat and goes for the cover, but Bryan kicks out at two. Christian goes right back to the cover, but Bryan kicks out at two again. Bryan comes back and throws Christian to the outside. Bryan sets Christian against the steel steps and delivers a dropkick to Christian. Back in the ring, Bryan kicks Christian a few times in the corner, but Christian reverses with a sunset flip and gets a two count. Bryan kicks Christian again, but Christian delivers a drop-toe hold and Bryan crashes into the middle rope. Christian delivers an uppercut and goes for the cross-body from the top rope. Bryan rolls out of the way and goes up top. Bryan goes for the diving headbutt, but Christian rolls out of the way. Christian goes for the Tornado DDT, but Bryan reverses and delivers a series of kicks to Christian’s chest. Bryan goes for one kick to the head, but Christian takes him down. Christian goes for the Spear, but Bryan catches and and kicks him in the head. Bryan goes for the cover, but Christian kicks out at two. Bryan delivers a dropkick to Christian in the corner and then goes for another one, but Christian delivers the Spear out of nowhere. Christian goes for the cover, but Bryan kicks out at two. Bryan charges Christian in the corner, but Christian kicks him in the mid-section. Christian comes off the ropes, but Bryan catches him in the Yes Lock and Christian taps out.
Winner: Daniel Bryan.
We see Teddy Long talking on the phone backstage when Dolph Ziggler walks up. Teddy says he is giving Ziggler the night off, but Ziggler says he wants to be out there competing. Teddy says Alberto Del Rio is facing Sin Cara later, and he doesn’t want Ziggler out there to interfere. Teddy says he doesn’t want to be fired like Vickie Guerrero, so nobody will be interfering in any matches tonight. Ziggler says this Sunday, he will become the new World Heavyweight Champion and walks away.
We see that we will take a look back at Vickie Guerrero’s Job Evaluation from this past Monday’s Raw as we go to a commercial.
Match #2: Jey Uso (w/Jimmy Uso) vs. Seth Rollins (w/Roman Reigns)
They tie up and change arm-wrenches, but Uso takes Rollins down with a forearm shot. Uso takes Rollins to the corner and then slams him down to the mat. Uso goes for the cover, but Rollins kicks out at one. Uso goes to the middle rope, but Rollins pulls him down and goes for the cover, but Uso kicks out at two. Rollins slams Uso to the mat and goes for the cover, but Uso kicks out at two. Rollins slams Uso into the corner. Rollins stomps away on Uso down on the mat, and then applies a submission. Rollins slams Uso’s head into the turnbuckles and delivers some chops, but Uso fires up and drops Rollins with a few right hands. Uso splashes Rollins in the corner and goes for the cover, but Reigns gets on the apron. Jimmy drops Reigns with a superkick and Jey drops Rollins with a Samoan Drop and goes for the cover, but Rollins kicks out at two. Reigns takes Jimmy down on the outside as Jey goes up top. Rollins knocks Jey down from the ropes and slams him into the mat to get the pin fall.
Winner: Seth Rollins.
We take a look back at Vickie Guerrero’s Job Evaluation from this past Monday’s Raw, where she was fired by Stephanie McMahon, and where Vince McMahon named Brad Maddox as the new General Manager of Raw.
We see that Chris Jericho and Curtis Axel will go one-on-one after the commercial break.
Match #3: Chris Jericho vs. Curtis Axel (w/Paul Heyman)
Axel stomps Jericho down in the corner. Jericho comes back with a back elbow and then a series to chops to Axel’s chest. Jericho sends Axel off the ropes and delivers another elbow shot. Jericho connects with a missile dropkick and goes for the cover, but Axel kicks out at two. Axel comes back and tosses Jericho into the corner. Axel charges, but Jericho goes over the top of Axel and Axel goes shoulder-first into the ring post. Jericho goes for the Codebreaker, but Axel reverses and drops Jericho down to the mat. Axel goes for the cover, but Jericho kicks out at two as we head to a commercial break.
We’re back and Axel drops an elbow on Jericho’s throat. Axel goes for the cover, but Jericho kicks out at two. Axel works over Jericho’s arm and then chokes him over the middle rope. Jericho comes back and takes Axel down with a forearm shiver. Jericho takes Axel down with a suplex and goes for the cover, but Axel kicks out at two. Jericho goes for the Walls of Jericho, but Axel powers out. Axel takes Jericho down with a suplex and goes for the cover, but Jericho kicks out at two. Axel chops Jericho in the corner and then goes for a splash, but Jericho moves out of the way. Jericho goes up top and connects with the cross-body. Jericho goes for the cover, but Axel kicks out at two. Jericho takes Axel down with a running bulldog and goes for the Lionsault, but Axel moves and Jericho lands on his feet. Axel takes Jericho down with a neck-breaker and goes for the cover, but Jericho kicks out at two. Axel pounds away on Jericho down on the mat, but Jericho reverses and goes for the Walls. Axel rolls through and goes for the cover, but Jericho kicks out at two. Jericho kicks Axel in the head and goes for the cover, but Axel kicks out at two. Jericho elevates Axel over the top rope and down to the floor. Jericho goes out after him, but Axel drops him with a huge clothesline. Axel tosses Jericho back into the ring, but Jericho catches him with a Codebreaker on the apron. The referee begins to count and Axel is out cold and the referee counts him out.
Winner via count-out: Chris Jericho.
After the match, Axel destroys the ringside area.
We see that The Wyatt Family’s debut on Raw will be revisited later tonight.
Match #4: Ryback vs. The Miz
They tie up and Miz tosses Ryback into the corner. Ryback comes back and charges at Miz, but Miz pulls the rope down and Ryback falls out to the floor. Ryback gets back into the ring and backs Miz into the corner. Miz fights out and comes off the top rope, but Ryback catches him and drops him to the mat. Ryback delivers a clubbing blow to Miz’s back and then slams him into the corner. Ryback tosses Miz into the opposite corner and Miz crumples to the mat. Miz fights back and works over Ryback’s injured knee. Ryback takes Miz down with a big clothesline. Ryback slams Miz into the mat a few times and then goes for a splash, but Miz gets his knees up. Miz delivers a few left hands and dropkicks Ryback’s knee. Miz takes Ryback down with a running knee lift. Miz clotheslines Ryback in the corner and then goes for the Figure Four, but Ryback powers out. Miz works over Ryback’s knee in the corner and then delivers a knee-buster. Ryback says he is hurt and he felt something pop, but tells the referee to keep the match going. Ryback charges out of the corner and clotheslines Miz, showing that he was feigning his injury. Ryback delivers Shell Shocked and gets the pin fall.
Rene Young is backstage with Sheamus. Rene wants his thoughts on his match with Randy Orton tonight. Sheamus says he will drive Orton out and then will go on to win the WWE Championship Money in the Bank All-Stars Ladder Match. He says he is going to cash in the contract and become a three-time WWE Champion, and when he does, the pints are on him. Sheamus tells Rene that he thinks she’s pretty cute.
We see AJ Lee skipping and Kaitlyn walking backstage. The first ever contract signing for a WWE Divas Championship Match will take place after the commercial break.
Teddy Long is in the ring with a group of Divas, AJ Lee, Kaitlyn, and Big E. Langston. He asks both of them to sign the contract. AJ asks if the other Divas are out here to protect Kaitlyn, but she says half of them don’t like her. AJ says no one cared about the Divas Division until she won the title, and that they should all thanks her. Teddy says they don’t have time for all of that and says they need to hurry it up. AJ tells Kaitlyn that she will embarrass her more than she ever has before. Kaitlyn signs and Teddy says the match is official. AJ says she tried to help Kaitlyn, but she has to do this now. AJ brings up all the texts that Kaitlyn sent to her secret admirer. AJ reads a few texts that Kaitlyn sent to Big E. where she bad-mouthed Natalya, Naomi, and Cameron. Kaitlyn grabs the phone and throws it away, but AJ tells Big E to toss it to the TitanTron. She reads one more and tells Kaitlyn to tear up the contract and to never show her face ever again. Kaitlyn says no and that this is not going to work again. Kaitlyn says she lost her friends, her title, and herself. Kaitlyn says she will never, ever led a needy, man-crazed psychopath destroy her again. Kaitlyn says she will be Divas Champion again while AJ is left in a padded cell like the crazy—AJ slaps her. Kaitlyn shoves the table and AJ to the corner and beats her down. Big E pulls Kaitlyn off of AJ and AJ gets free, but Kaitlyn delivers a monster Spear to AJ.
We are reminded of the main event tonight, which is Randy Orton vs. Sheamus.
We see Fandango and Summer Rae backstage. They begin walking towards the arena, as Fandango will go one-on-one with Wade Barrett after the commercial break.
Match #5: Fandango (w/Summer Rae) vs. Wade Barrett
Barrett drops Fandango with a big boot and goes for the cover, but Fandango kicks out at two. Barrett slams Fandango into the corner and delivers a back-breaker. Barrett goes for the cover, but Fandango kicks out at two. Barrett drives his knee into Fandango’s midsection and then places him on the top rope. Team Rhodes Scholars come to ringside and argue with Antonio Cesaro and Jack Swagger, and Fandango rolls up Barrett for a quick pin fall.
After the match, Rhodes, Sandow, Swagger, and Cesaro continue arguing as Fandango and Summer Rae exit up the stage.
Michael Cole informs us that Kane has been removed from the Money in the Bank All-Stars Match as a result of the beating he took from The Wyatt Family on this past Monday’s Raw. We then take a look at the beat down before heading to commercial.
Match #6: Alberto Del Rio vs. Sin Cara
Sin Cara jumps all over Del Rio before the bell rings. JBL is skeptical and claims that Ziggler is in the ring and Sin Cara hits the Zigzag on Del Rio and leaves.
Match Result: No Contest.
Vickie Guerrero comes from the crowd and says she had to buy a ticket to be here tonight and demands that Teddy Long be fired. Teddy comes out and tells security to take her away. The crowd sings “Na Na Na Na, Hey Hey Hey, Goodbye” as security escorts her away.
We are informed that Sheamus and Randy Orton will go one-on-one after the commercial break.
We see Sin Cara walking backstage and Teddy Long stops him and calls him Dolph. Ziggler walks up and says he forgot his cellphone and that Sin Cara has never looked better in the ring.
We see the return vignette for Rob Van Dam.
Match #7: Randy Orton vs. Sheamus
They tie up and Sheamus takes Orton down with a suplex and goes for the cover, but Orton kicks out at two. Sheamus works over Orton’s arm, but Orton fights back and delivers an uppercut. Sheamus slams Orton down to the mat and goes for the cover, but Orton kicks out at two. Orton sends Sheamus to the outside, but Sheamus grabs Orton and pulls him to the outside as well. Sheamus slams Orton into the announce table, but Orton drops him with a big clothesline as we head to a commercial.
We’re back and Orton has Sheamus in a headlock down on the mat. Sheamus fights out, but Orton connects with a dropkick. Orton goes for a cover, but Sheamus kicks out at one. Orton goes back to the headlock on the mat. Sheamus fights back and they slug it out for a bit. Sheamus drops Orton down to the mat. Sheamus drops Orton with a few clubbing shots, but Orton comes back with some clotheslines of his own. Orton drops Sheamus with the powerslam and goes for the cover, but Sheamus kicks out at two. Sheamus sends Orton off the ropes and then drops him with the Irish Curse back-breaker. Sheamus goes for the cover, but Orton kicks out at two. Sheamus delivers his vintage ten clubbing shots and goes for the Brogue Kick, but Orton ducks and delivers the middle-rope DDT. Orton sets up for the RKO, but Sheamus counters. Sheamus goes up top, but Orton knocks him right back down. They slug it out in the corner and then tumble to the outside and down to the floor. Daniel Bryan runs to the ring and sets a ladder up and the referee calls for the bell.
Match Result: No Contest.
After the match, Bryan begins to climb the ladder, but Sheamus stops him. Sheamus sends Bryan to the outside and begins to climb, but Christian runs out and stops him. Christian begins to climb the ladder, but Sheamus stops him. Sheamus and Christian both climb and Christian tosses Sheamus down to the mat. Bryan gets back in and sends Christian sailing. Bryan tries to climb, but Orton drops him with an RKO. Orton climbs to the top and grabs the briefcase. Orton poses with the briefcase on top of the ladder as Smackdown comes to a close.
