it reminds me of Oddities-esque
My expectation ? Start squash jobbers. Begin with ………. Zack Ryder!
I have my doubts that they’ll last the year, before they are shipped back to NXT. Luke Harper is the only guy that is a good worker, Erick Rowan is only passable as a tag team wrestler, singles matches he is horrible, now on to everyone’s favourite Bray Wyatt, he cuts a good promo, but isn’t good in the ring cause he is lazy and doesn’t even like the business, he just does it cause his football career failed, he thinks his dad’s name was I.R.S. Man, yes with the Man. Jericho said well not to the IWC that is match with Bray Wyatt was average at best. They’ll just come in squash the likes of Ryder, Gabriel etc. and that’s it cause there ain’t any face teams that they could feud with.
Them ending the show with their promo makes me have high hopes for them. Since real fans should already know who they are, we are now at a stage where we should expect bigger moments when people are freed from development. Where in the past they could just have one new guy randomly walk out, that just won’t cut it anymore when we can already see all these guys weekly on a WWE show. There out-of-development “debut” if you can really even call it a debut should be something memorable. A moment that makes people who for whatever lazy reason not watching the under shows get a taste of what they missed. Langston and Dallas were good ones (even though Dallas hasn’t been used much outside of NXT still lol)
I expect them to do something outlandish and get a win. Something that will serve as a wake up to those who don’t know who they are yet. They don’t need to destroy a main eventer on monday but i expect something to make people talk.
Overall whatever they do i’m sure it’ll be very good. Bray has come into his own with this character. He’s improved since his first run through as Husky Harris. He plays this twisted character wonderfully.
Luke Harper is a solid guy for his size. He always did look a little goofy so this role helps him. I’ve enjoyed his work so far in WWE and was a fan of him pre-WWE. I hope he keeps it up.
Erick Rowan is a wildcard. His match records seem to vanish in between a period where he worked midland indies and NOAH before coming to WWE, where he disappeared in developmental for a while as is. Since coming back he’s proven himself a solid wrestler. Not the best thing going, but not anything under par. This role suits him fine.
I do however wonder if the stable should have gotten more members. They filmed some of the other redneck/freaky guys in the videos they aired on NXT and RAW but they seem to not be involving them in the stable. I kind of feel like one or two more followers would be cooler. A Cult with three guys seems a little lacking, we don’t need something ministry sized yet but i think four or five would be a solid number for a creepy southern cult gimmick.
Also i hope now that these guys are allowed on the other shows, those lame internet thinkers who act like “PG” ruins everything will actually go learn what PG is instead of reading whatever garbage internet source they use. It’s 2013 and WWE has a cult on it’s shows. And guess what it’s all PG people!
But i’ve ranted enough, looking forward to this “debut” or maybe the proper word is now “un-nxting”.
creepy in ring promos and good odd matches.
I absolutely love the gimmick, it has been portrayed superbly so far by Wyatt, Harper & Rowan. I would love to see them break out from the pack and make a huge impact. However, with wwe’s well-documented lack of patience with new acts, if they’re not ‘sufficiently over’ within a month or two the creative team will inevitably lose interest in them.
Epic fued with The Shield
I’d like to think they’ll succeed. It makes little sense to me to have 2 heel factions that will probably be over huge. Maybe they are turning the Shield, or the Wyatt’s get a different reception than what WWE is planning for. The Briscoes would/would have been a great addition here, whether or not that happens is anybody’s guess. Am I the only one who can’t figure out if they’re doing Deliverance, Duck Dynasty or Backwoods Philospher/Preacher types?
“creepy in ring promos” huh?
Because you know, that transfers so well on to a live stage. The promotional videos are GREAT. However, this isn’t going to transfer live at ALL. I expect a somewhat big reaction the first time they are on. And it will slowly dwindle into little to no reaction. Its going to be boring, sorry to say.
Let them have squash matches then all of the sudden have them attack random big stars like Orton or do a build up that would lead to a Shield vs. Wyatt Family match as Survivor Series, with the Shield as Face.
Ryno have you seen NXT before before you go full on????
Go watch a few clips of Bray cutting promos and his in ring work, ya blew it son…ya blew it!!!!
Those wanting Wyatt Family vs. Shield at some point, it won’t happen because they are very unlikely to wrestle as a faction, it will be Bray Wyatt wrestling singles and the bearded freaks as a tandem. There’s no way either faction’s turning babyface, and a match against one another is only gonna kill heat in both.
They’re not going to face the Shield for a very long time. There’s no need to make a face stable just to have that feud. The Wyatt Family will squash some guys, look strong, and go into a big feud, preferably start with Jericho and move on to Randy Orton and maybe even Sheamus
The Undertaker's streak ends at Wrestlemania 30
