Wrestling By The Numbers: Mark Briscoe



Ring Of Honor Wrestling has parted ways with former 8-Time ROH Tag-Team champion Mark ‘Mark Briscoe’ Pugh. The 28-year-old Salisbury Maryland native had spent 9-years working for the company in a tenure that included 2-separate stints with the organization. Pugh first debuted in ROH in August of 2002 in a match with his real life brother Jay Briscoe. In his first go around Mark feuded with his brother and also teamed with Jay competing in memorable battles against the likes of A.J. Styles, The Amazing Red, C.M. Punk, Colt Cabana, Dan Maff and B.J. Whitmer among others. Mark Briscoe was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident in August of 2004 and was out of action for over a year recovering from his injuries.

After returning to ROH at the company’s 4th Anniversary Show in February of 2006 The Briscoe Brothers would become one of the greatest tag-teams in company history. Memorable feuds and classic matches with likes of The American Wolves, The Kings Of Wrestling and The World’s Greatest Tag-Team would help etch their legacy. Ring Of Honor announced on June 25th that Mark Briscoe’s contract with the organization had expiered and was not being renewed.

Mark Pugh is a 13-year professional wrestling veteran who first debuted in the year 2000 after having been trained by Eddie Valentine, Glen Osbourne and Jim Kettner. Pugh has mostly been known throughout his career as Mark Briscoe but also had a run as Keno Murdoch. Prior to joining ROH he worked for independent organizations including both Combat Zone Wrestling and Jersey All Pro Wrestling. While working for ROH Pugh also had stints competing for TNA Wrestling, Pro Wrestling NOAH, Full Impact Pro and also worked dark matches / tryout matches for World Wrestling Entertainment.
