Smackdown: Participants for World title contract ladder match announced



Smackdown opens up with Damien Sandow making his way down to the ring. He cuts a promo on the way people in South Carolina talk and says he will beat Sheamus in the Dublin Street Fight.

Match #1: Dublin Street Fight – Damien Sandow vs. Sheamus
The brawl begins and Sheamus quickly sends Sandow to the outside and then delivers a big clothesline. The weapons around the ring are colored green. Sheamus delivers the vintage ten clubbing shots to Sandow’s chest and backs away. Sandow scurries away and Sheamus goes after him, but Sandow delivers a standing dropkick on the outside. Sandow slams Sheamus into a cart that was at the bottom of the ramp. Sheamus comes back and opens the cart and pulls out a keg. He throws the keg at Sandow, and Sandow falls to the floor. Sheamus hits Sandow with a sack of Irish potatoes. Sheamus tries to get Sandow back into the ring, but Sandow slams him into the steel steps and beats him down on the outside as we head to a commercial break.
We’re back and Sandow drops Sheamus in the ring with a back-elbow. Sandow goes to the outside and tosses a couple chairs in the ring. Sandow places one of the chairs in the corner, but Sheamus clocks him with a bar stool. Sheamus delivers the Irish Curse back-breaker and goes for the cover, but Sandow kicks out at two. Sheamus drives his shoulder into Sandow’s midsection, and Sandow crashes into the chair in the corner. Sheamus takes Sandow down with a running knee lift and then he takes him down with the rolling senton. Sheamus goes for the cover, but Sandow kicks out at two. Sandow comes bakc and levels Sheamus and goes for the cover, but Sheamus kicks out at two. Sandow drop-toe-holds Sheamus onto a steel chair and goes for the cover, but Sheamus kicks out at two. Sandow grabs a kendo stick and waylays on Sheamus. Sandow goes for the cover, but Sheamus kicks out at two. Sheamus comes back and throws a chair and nails Sandow with it. Sheamus grabs a kendo stick now and destroys Sandow with it. Sheamus goes for the cover, but Sandow kicks out at two. Sheamus sets up two chairs in the center of the ring. Sheamus goes for White Noise, but Sandow fights out. Sheamus hits Sandow with the kendo stick and Sandow falls into the chairs. Sheamus delivers a Brogue Kick and gets the pin fall.
Winner: Sheamus.

We take a look back at the No Disqualification Match between Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton from this past Monday’s Raw, where Bryan made Orton tap out. We go backstage and we see Kane when Bryan walks up, whistling. Kane says he doesn’t want to hear Bryan bragging about his win, but tells him good job and it was a great upset. Bryan says the only upset was that he didn’t get the job done the first time. Kane says Bryan is stressing him out and he needs to leave. Bryan says he is going to let that slide since Kane is his friend. Bryan says he didn’t need Kane’s help on Monday, but in case Kane needs his help tonight, he will be on commentary. Bryan leaves as Kane seethes.

We see that Paul Heyman will be on MizTV after the commercial break.

Back from commercial, we get a Raw rebound that features the apparent reuniting of CM Punk and Paul Heyman from this past Monday’s Raw. We go back into the arena, and Paul Heyman is in the ring with The Miz. The Miz asks Heyman if he wants to bully him like he bullied Renee Young last week. Heyman says how could he bully an athlete like The Miz? Heyman says he knows someone who can bully The Miz, and introduces the Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel. Miz says half the people believe Heyman about Lesnar and half think he is lying. Miz says Axel is on his show uninvited. Heyman says he invited him and Miz is intimidated. Miz says Heyman sounds like Yoda, smells like Chewbaca, and looks like Jabba the Hut. Miz says he had a question for Axel. He asks Axel what happens when he loses the Intercontinental Championship to him. Axel says he is very possessive of the Intercontinental Championship and takes The Miz’s threats very personally. Miz suggests that Axel defend the title against him right now, but Heyman says no. Heyman says Axel made it to the top very quickly and earned it. Miz interrupts, but Axel beats him down. Axel and Heyman leave as Axel says he is never losing the Intercontinental title.

We see that Christian and The Usos will take on The Shield in a Six-Man Tag Team Match later tonight, and we will also see Fiesta Del Rio as well. We see AJ Lee walking backstage. She is in action after the commercial break.

Match #1: AJ Lee (w/Big E Langston) vs. Natalya
Kaitlyn comes out before the match, dressed like AJ. Natalya gets the win in a fairly short match.
Winner: Natalya.

We see a vignette for The Wyatt Family.

We go backstage and see Teddy Long and Vince McMahon. Teddy says he has done something that he has done something that Booker T never has, and then announces the participants for the World Heavyweight Championship Contract Ladder Match: Wade Barrett, Antonio Cesaro, Jack Swagger, Fandango, Cody Rhodes, Dean, Ambrose, and Damien Sandow.

Daniel Bryan’s music hits and he makes his way to the commentary table for the next match.

Match #3: Kane vs. Randy Orton
Kane takes Orton down with a shoulder block, but Orton comes back and takes Kane to the corner and delivers a series of rights and lefts. Kane comes back and delivers a huge uppercut that sends Orton down to the mat. Kane delivers a dropkick to Orton and goes for the cover, but Orton kicks out at two. Kane sends Orton to the corner and then delivers a power slam and goes for the cover, but Orton kicks out at two. Kane goes up top and jumps off the ropes, but Orton counters with a dropkick. Orton drops a knee on Kane and goes for the cover, but Kane kicks out at two. Orton goes for a back-body drop, but Kane counters with a DDT as we go to a commercial.
We’re back and Kane drops Orton with an uppercut. Kane goes for the cover, but Orton kicks out at two. Orton comes back with a Thesz Press after Bryan tries to get the crowd behind Kane. Kane delivers a big boot to Orton. Orton clotheslines Kane and delivers a dropkick for a two count. Kane comes back with a sidewalk slam and goes for the cover, but Orton kicks out at two. Kane goes up top, but Orton cuts him off. Kane punches Orton down to the mat and launches himself onto Orton. Kane goes for the chokeslam, but Orton counters with a back-elbow. Orton delivers the power slam to Kane and goes for the cover, but Kane kicks out at two. Orton goes for the middle rope DDT, but Kane counters and goes for a chokeslam. Orton counters and goes for the RKO, but Kane shoves him into the corner. Orton goes up top, but Kane knocks him down. Orton comes back and delivers the middle rope DDT and Bryan rolls Kane back into the ring. Orton nails Kane with an RKO and gets the pin fall.
Winner: Randy Orton.

We are reminded that Fiesta Del Rio will take place later tonight. We see Ryback walking backstage. He will be in action after the commercial break.

Match #4: Justin Gabriel vs. Ryback
Gabriel kicks Ryback in the leg a few times, but Ryback comes back and delivers a big boot to Gabriel. Ryback picks Gabriel up, but Gabriel fights out and kicks Ryback’s hamstring area while he is caught up in the ropes. Gabriel takes Ryback’s knee out and delivers a dropkick. Gabriel dives onto Ryback, but Ryback catches him and delivers Shell Shocked for the pin fall.
Winner: Ryback.
After the match, Chris Jericho comes to the stage and mocks Ryback for favoring his knee and leg. Jericho says all he has heard is how bad of a man Ryback is, but he also knows he is a whiner and a complainer. Jericho says they should change his name from Ryback to Cryback. Jericho gets the crowd to chant ‘Cryback.’ Jericho says maybe he will give something for Ryback to cry about. Jericho goes after Ryback and goes after his injured leg. Jericho goes for the Walls of Jericho, but Ryback escapes and backs up the ramp.

We see that Christian and The Usos will take on The Shield after the commercial break. We also see another vignette for The Wyatt Family.

Match #6: Six-Man Tag Team Match – Christian and The Usos vs. The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins)
Reigns and Jimmy start the match with a tie-up. Both teams have a stand off on the outside as we head to a commercial.
We’re back and Ambrose is in control of Jimmy in the ring. Ambrose tags in Reigns, who stomps Jimmy down in the corner. Reigns slams Jimmy down on the mat and goes for a cover, but Jimmy kicks out. Reigns clocks Jey down to the floor and mouths at Christian, but Jimmy slams Reigns into the top turnbuckle. Christian and Ambrose get tagged in, and Christian takes control of the match for his team. Christian slams Ambrose down to the mat and sets up for the Spear, but Rollins trips him up. Christian slams Rollins down on the floor and goes after Ambrose. Christian goes for a cross-body, but Ambrose rolls through it and goes for the cover, but Christian kicks out at two. Ambrose chokes Christian in the corner, but Christian counters with a tornado DDT. Christian goes for the cover, but Ambrose kicks out at two. The Usos take out Reigns on the outside, but Rollins takes out the Usos. Christian nails Ambrose with a Spear and gets the pin fall.
Winners: Christian and The Usos.

Fiesta Del Rio will take place after the commercial break.

Alberto Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez comes to the ring. Del Rio welcomes everyone to the celebration and the crowd boos. Del Rio says he is a four-time World Champion. Del Rio says he is going to do things his way, not the WWE Universe’s way. He says tonight, he is only going to speak Spanish. He does just that, and talks in Spanish for a long time. He finally speaks English again and says this is supposed to be fun. Del Rio tells Ricardo to begin the games. Ricardo hands Del Rio a kendo stick and Del Rio destroys a pinata that is hanging above the ring. Del Rio says he busted the pinata just like he bashed in Dolph Ziggler’s brain at Payback, and he will do the same at Money in the Bank to remain the World Heavyweight Champion. Del Rio says Ziggler promised to ruin the party tonight, and asks where Ziggler is. Del Rio tells Ziggler to come out and face him. Ziggler’s music hits and he comes to the ring and beats down Del Rio. Ricardo gets involved and Ziggler tosses him over the top rope and Del Rio takes advantage. Ziggler comes back and drives Ricardo through a table and hits the Zigzag on Del Rio. Ziggler goes to smash a guitar over Del Rio’s head, but Del Rio escapes the ring. Ziggler smashes the guitar over Ricardo’s head. Ziggler plays with the mariachi band as balloons fall from the rafters as Smackdown comes to a close.

    What’s the deal with having all baby faces in the RAW MITB match and all heels in the SmackDown MITB match? Did anyone notice that?
