1996 – WCW Nito begins an 84-week ratings domination of WWF Raw

2007 – Milano Collection AT wins the NJPW Best of the Super Juniors Tournament, defeating Wataru Inoue in the final


In 2005, the first TNA No Surrender was held in Orlando, Florida

– Sonjay Dutt defeats Elix Skipper, Mikey Batts & Shark Boy in a 4-Way Match to qualify for the Super X Cup
– Monty Brown & Kip James defeat 3Live Kru (Ron Killings & Konnan) in a Street Fight
– AJ Styles defeats Sean Waltman
– Christopher Daniels defeats Petey Williams to retain the TNA X-Division Title
– Raven defeats Abyss in a Dog Collar Match to retain the NWA World Title

In 2007, TNA Slammiversary was held in Nashville, Tennessee. It marked the approximate 5th anniversary of TNA Wrestling and was the first major TNA event in Nashville since the Asylum days. The event also featured a shoot interview with Jeff Jarrett, discussing his recently-deceased wife Jill

– Jay Lethal defeats Chris Sabin to win the TNA X-Division Title
– Team 3D (Brother Ray & Brother Devon) defeat Rick Steiner & Road Warrior Animal to retain the TNA Tag Team Titles
– Sting defeats Christopher Daniels
– Abyss defeats Tomko in a No-DQ Match
– Kurt Angle defeats Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, Christian Cage & Chris Harris in a King of the Mountain Match to win the vacant TNA World Title

In 2012, WWE No Way Out was held in East Rutherford, New Jersey. This was the first No Way Out since 2009, having been replaced by Elimination Chamber in 2010 and 2011

– Sheamus defeats Dolph Ziggler to retain the World Heavyweight Title
– Christian defeats Cody Rhodes to retain the WWE Intercontinental Title
– Layla defeats Beth Phoenix to retain the WWE Divas Title
– CM Punk defeats Kane & Daniel Bryan in a Triple Threat Match to retain the WWE Title
– John Cena defeats The Big Show. As per the pre-match stipulation, John Laurinaitis is fired

Title Changes

1983 – Kerry von Erich & Bruiser Brody defeat The Fabulous Freebirds (Terry Gordy & Michael Hayes) to win the WCCW American Tag Team Titles. Also, Jimmy Garvin defeats David von Erich to win the vacant Texas Heavyweight Title, but the title is immediately held up due to interference by Sunshine

1985 – The US Express (Mike Rotunda & Barry Windham) defeat The Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff to win the WWF Tag Team Titles

2012 – Manabu Soya & Takao Omori defeat Joe Doering & Seiya Sanada to win the AJPW Unified Tag Team Titles
