TNA Wrestling has released X Division wrestler and former TNA Gut Check winner Alexandre ‘Alex Silva’ Freitas. The 23-year-old Montreal Quebec Canada native had spent just under 2-years with TNA after having been signed following a dark match for the company in November of 2011. Freitas was sent to TNA’s developmental territory Ohio Valley Wrestling before making his debut on Impact Wrestling in April of 2012. He competed mostly in TNA’s X Division and had continued his training in OVW before the announcement of his release last month.

Alexandre Freitas is a 9-year professional wrestling veteran who first debuted back in 2004 after having been trained by Tommy Rose, Carl LeDuc, Crusher Kline and Micah Taylor. The second generation wrestler started his career in his hometown working for Paul LeDuc’s FLQ promotion. In addition to experience in both TNA and OVW, from 2010-2011 Freitas had short stints working for both World Wrestling Entertainment and Ring Of Honor Wrestling. He has also been a well known independent wrestler working for numerous promotions in Montreal, Atlanta, Wisconsin and Chicago.
