Wrestling By The Numbers: Todd Keneley
TNA Wrestling has announced the release of Impact and pay-per-view commentator Todd Keneley. The 36-year-old San Clemente California native was informed prior to the 2013 TNA Slammiversary pay-per-view, that the event would be his final announcing assignment with the company. Keneley was first signed in October of last year as TNA planned on having Keneley and Jeremy Borash broadcast the first hour of Impact with Mike Tenay and Taz announcing the second hour. The announcing experiment was quickly dropped by the organization with Todd Keneley joining Mike Tenay and Taz with a 3-man commentator crew. It has been reported that Keneley was released due to TNA’s desire to go back to a traditional 2-man announce team and not over their displeasure with his work.
Todd Keneley has a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from the University of Southern California where he studied from 1997-2000. He has worked in the professional wrestling business for the last 13-years after making his debut for Ultimate Pro Wrestling shortly after graduating. He started as an announcer for UPW and was eventually hired by promoter Rick Bassman as the company’s Head Writer. Prior to joining TNA he worked as an announcer for NJPW-USA Toukon Fighting Spirit, NWA Pro Wrestling and was also apart of the Hulkamania: Let The Battle Begin series.
