I would have to say the 60s ! Because every decade after that had something cool in it, whether it is the late territory days in the 70s, Rock n wrestling and NWA in the 80’s, Attitude era / Monday night wars / ECW in the 90’s or the work of ROH, early TNA and the other indies in the 2000’s

I am tempted to try and suggest this decade but it’s not over yet.

00’s is difficult but I’ll go with that decade since the only good part of it was Jan 00-May 01, then the attitude era died with the Invasion crap, the predictable ending at Survivor Series, ALTHOUGH 2001 finished on an epic Vengeance PPV.

The 90s had 3 and a half good years, while the 80s just blazed the trail. I’m not at all familiar with the 70s however I’ve seen quite a few epic matches and with all the territories, classic feuds and icons forged, it couldn’t even be considered.

I’d have to say the 2000s. I pretty much stopped watching regularly in 07ish and recently even stopped reading results except around ‘mania. The only national powerhouse is the E and that has kinda hurt the business as a whole. There’s always been some sort of competition from the territories to WCW/WWF. The TNA expirement isn’t going well. Until a number 2 company rises big enough to battle the E the business can’t really grow.

2000 is the worst, but believe me the actual decade we are living is pure crap.

I only watch women’s wrestling so the 1990’s which was dominated by WWE, WCW, ECW which barely had any. And we were living with the specter of GLOW, POWW, LPWA. Not until well into the 2000’s did indies start getting a hold.

  7. The Price is Wrong says:

The 2010’s is the worst decade in my lifetime, or the immediate time before it.

    To me:

1970’s is defined by the peak of the territories, which I missed except for the tail end. They were vibrant and diverse in their styles and appeal. Fat old men started to be phased out in favor of younger wrestlers who could actually work.

1980’s was all about wrestling going mainstream and those stars of the late 70’s and early 80’s reaching their peaks. The territories unfortunately had to die, but got Wrestlemania in all of its awesomeness.

1990’s was a rebellious time in wrestling that made it fun and gave us a new generation of stars to get behind.

2000’s were about the rise of great independent companies which offered quality rarely seen in the big league of WWE.

2010’s I haven’t seen a damn thing to suggest this decade is going to produce anything worthwhile. All the established starsthat are left are slowly fading away and they are not being replaced by the same caliber of potential replacements yet.
