Impact Wrestling opens with a “Previously on Impact Wrestling” video package, highlighting the feud between Bully Ray and Sting, as well as James Storm revealing Gunner to be his tag team partner for Slammiversary. It transitions into A.J. Styles declining Aces and Eights offer.

We go backstage and we see Aces and Eights. Ray tells the group they are going after A.J. Styles tonight. D’Lo says he thought Ray’s plan to get A.J. was going to work. Aces and Eights walks, but Anderson decks Brown with a right hand. Aces and Eights’ music hits and Bully Ray and Devon make their way to the ring. Ray says it’s three days until Slammiversary, and in three days Devon will take out Joseph Park for good. Ray says he will end Sting’s chances at ever getting a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship. Ray tells Sting he has beaten some of the best ever to become The Icon. Ray reminds Sting that Sting has beaten Kurt Angle and Jeff Hardy and he can’t wait to beat Sting to ensure that he will never challenge for the World title again. Ray calls out Sting and Joseph Park. Sting’s music hits and he and Park make their way to the ring.

Match #1: Bully Ray and Devon vs. Joseph Park and Sting
Ray and Park to go the outside on one side of the ring as Sting and Devon go to the other. Sting tosses Devon into the barricade and Ray tosses Park into the ring post. Ray delivers some right hands to Park and Devon fights back against Sting. Park fights back against Ray as Devon chokes Sting on the ropes. Sting back-drops Devon into the ring as Ray slams Park’s arm on the steel steps. Sting and Devon fight to the outside again and Ray gets into the ring. Sting gets into the ring as well, and he and Ray exchange right hands. Both come off the ropes for cross-bodies and they slam into each other as we head to commercial.
We’re back and Park and Devon are in the ring. Park takes Devon down and goes to the corner. He goes up top for the Closing Argument, but Ray knocks him down. Devon takes Park down and tags in Ray. Ray levels Park with a few rights and knocks Sting off the apron. Ray goes for a cover, but Park kicks out. Devon gets tagged back in and controls Park. Devon tags Ray in, and he takes Park down with a dropkick. Ray and Devon try to smash Park, but Park moves and tags in Sting. Sting takes down both Ray and Devon and then dropkicks Devon into Ray in the corner. Sting locks Devon in the Scorpion Deathlock. Ray gets away from Park and saves Devon. Sting takes them down with a double-clothesline and then Stinger Splashes Devon. He goes after Ray, but Ray drops him with a back body-drop. Ray slams Park and Devon goes up top for What’s up. Abyss’ music hits and Ray leaves the ring. Sting drops Devon with the Scorpion Deathdrop and gets the pin fall.
Winners: Sting and Joseph Park.

We see Dixie Carter walking backstage, and we will hear from her after the commercial break.

We see Kurt Angle backstage. He talks about A.J. Styles and says there’s a mutual respect between the two. He says he is going to watch Styles’ match with Mr. Anderson very closely.

Dixie Carter’s music hits and she comes to the ring. She talks about Slammiversary this Sunday and the most amazing men and women have graced the Impact ring for the past eleven years. She announces that the second member of the TNA Hall of Fame will be announced this Sunday. She says she is pulling for Sting this Sunday, and Aces and Eights music hits and Wes Brisco, Garett Bischoff, and D.O.C. come to the ring. Bischoff asks her where the love for Aces and Eights is. He wants to know why she didn’t wish Bully Ray good luck. He says Slammiversary is going to feel more like a funeral than a celebration. Samoa Joe’s music hits and Joe and Magnus rush the ring and Aces and Eights bails. Joe says he sat at home for one month and couldn’t wait to get his hands on Aces and Eights. He says the wait is over and challenges Bischoff to get back into the ring.

Match #2: Garett Bischoff (w/D.O.C. and Wes Brisco) vs. Samoa Joe (w/Magnus)
Bischoff gets into the ring and Joe takes him down with an enzuiguri as we head to a commercial.
We’re back and Magnus fights with D.O.C. and Brisco on the outside. Bischoff joins them and the referee tosses the match out. Joe takes out all three guys with a suicide dive.
Match Result: No Contest.
After the match, Joe announces it will be Garett Bischoff, Wes Brisco, and D.O.C. against Magnus, himself, and Jeff Hardy in a Six-Man Tag Team Match at Slammiversary.

We take a look back to last Thursday when Gunner was announced as James Storm’s tag team partner for Slammiversary. We go backstage and see Storm and Gunner. Storm says Gunner is a beast and has seen people die and killed people in war. We see an Eight-Man Tag Team Match will take place after the commercial break.

We see Hulk and Brooke Hogan backstage. They are talking about Bully Ray telling Brooke that he still loved her. She says she doesn’t know what she is going to do and can’t focus on the Knockouts with Ray running around backstage.

Match #3: Eight-Man Tag Team Match – Austin Aries, Bobby Roode, and Bad Influence (Christopher Daniels and Kazarian) vs. Chavo Guerrero, Hernandez, Gunner, and James Storm
Gunner and Daniels start the match. Gunner backs Daniels into the corner and then delivers a back elbow when Daniels comes off the ropes. Gunner delivers a back-body drop and Daniels rolls to the outside and calls timeout. Daniels tags in Aries. Aries tags in Roode and walks around the ring. Gunner and Roode tie up and Roode slams Gunner’s face into the turnbuckle. Roode charges Gunner, but Gunner gets his boot up and takes Gunner down. Gunner takes Roode to the corner and tags in Guerrero. Guerrero slams Roode to the mat and tags in Hernandez. Hernandez splashes Roode and goes for the cover, but Roode kicks out. Hernandez tags in Guerrero, but Roode takes control. Guerrero goes for the Three Amigos and goes up top. He kicks Daniels and Kazarian off the apron, but Aries takes Guerrero down. Back in the ring, Roode stomps away on Guerrero and tags in Aries. Aries and Roode double-team Guerrero and Aries delivers a springboard elbow. Daniels tags himself in and he and Kazarian double team Guerrero. Kazarian is the legal man and delivers a neck-breaker to Guerrero and gets a two count. Kazarian tags in Roode, who stomps Guerrero down in the corner. Roode tags Kazarian back in, who locks in a headlock down on the mat. Guerrero fights back, but Kazarian slams him back to the mar and rakes the eyes. All four men beat down Guerrero as the referee is distracted. Guerrero comes back and dropkicks Kazarian. Guerrero tags in Hernandez, who destroys all four heels. Hernandez picks up Roode and delivers a back-breaker. Daniels and Kazarian make the save, but Hernandez takes both of them out. Hernandez goes for the Border Toss on Daniels, but Kazarian makes the save. Aries takes Hernandez down from behind, but Hernandez comes back and delivers a suplex. Hernandez tags in Gunner, who meets a discus elbow from Aries. Gunner delivers a back-breaker to Aries and then gets him in a Torture Rack submission and Aries taps out.
Winners: Gunner, James Storm, Chavo Guerrero, and Hernandez.

We see A.J. Styles arriving to the arena. We then see Aces and Eights backstage. Bully Ray says Styles has a lot of nerve to turn them down and tells Anderson he better take care of Styles tonight. Devon says he will take care of Joseph Park and Ray wants to know where Jeff Hardy came from. He says he hit him in the back of the head with a hammer, and tells D.O.C., Brisco, and Bischoff that they better take care of Hardy, Joe, and Magnus. He says he wants victims; a lot of victims. He says if he doesn’t want victims, one of them, or all of them, might end up like D’Lo Brown.

We see Mickie James walking backstage. He championship celebration is after the commercial break.

We see a promotional vignette for Bound for Glory, which is on October 20th and will be in San Diego, California.

We go back to last Thursday and revisit Mickie James’ title win. Mickie’s music hits and she makes her way to the ring. She says it’s great to be the champion. She said it’s been a crazy year and plugs her new album. She said it’s been almost two years since she has been champion and it has been a long time coming. She thanks everyone that has stood beside her, but then calls out the people who doubted the way she won the championship. She calls out Velvet Sky, and they share a hug in the ring. Mickie talks about asking Velvet if she wanted to have the match last week and that Velvet said yes. Velvet takes the mic and says she thanks all the fans and Mickie for the support and says she wants her rematch. Mickie says they will have it when Velvet’s knee is fully healed. Velvet says she wants the match at Slammiversary. Mickie says there is already a Knockouts match at Slammiversary, and Gail Kim comes to the ring. Kim says Mickie wouldn’t have won the title without Kim destroying Velvet’s knee. Kim says she is going to take Taryn Terrell to school and then she is going after the title. Velvet says she is first line for the title and Kim attacks him as Mickie stands by and watches. Taryn makes the save before Kim can lock the Figure Four around the ring post.

Match #4: Mixed Tag Team Match – Chris Sabin and Taryn Terrell vs. Kenny King and Gail Kim
We’re back and Taryn takes Gail down with a clothesline. Taryn slams Gail down to the mat and then hits a cross-body for a two count. Gail gets away and tags in King. Sabin chops King a few times and takes him down with a couple arm drags and goes to work on King’s arm. King clubs Sabin from behind and goes on the offensive. King Pele kicks Sabin in the head and shows off for Taryn. King applies a submission on Sabin down on the mat. King goes for a cover, but Taryn distracts ODB. King comes off the ropes, but Sabin moves and takes control. Sabin clotheslines King in the corner and takes him down with a face-buster, but King kicks out at two. Gail grabs Sabin’s hair, but Taryn goes after her. Taryn spears Gail and Sabin delivers an enzuiguri to King. Sabin plants King and gets the pin fall.
Winners: Chris Sabin and Taryn Terrell.
After the match, Sabin says he is going to become a five-time champion this Sunday, but King attacks him. Kimg continues the attack before Suicide makes the save.

We see A.J. Styles and Mr. Anderson walking backstage. They go one-on-one next.

We’re back and we see Sting talking about some of his title wins and how this Sunday could be his last shot.

A.J. Styles vs. Mr. Anderson
Anderson goes after Styles as soon as he gets into the ring. Styles comes back and backs Anderson into the corner. Styles delivers a few chops and then kicks out Anderson’s knee. Styles sends Anderson off the ropes, but Anderson takes him down with a shoulder block. Styles comes back and slams Anderson to the mat. Styles suplexes Anderson down to the mat and goes for the cover, but Anderson kicks out. Styles tosses Anderson into the corner, but Anderson reverses and stomps Styles down in the corner. Styles comes back and decks Anderson with a right hand, and Anderson rolls to the outside. Styles gets Anderson back into the ring and immediately tosses him back to the floor. Styles baseball slides into Anderson on the outside as we go to a commercial.
We’re back and Anderson and Styles are fighting on the apron. Styles shoves the referee away and Anderson pokes him in the eye. Anderson sends Styles down to the floor with a face-buster on the apron. Anderson drives Styles back-first into the apron and tosses him back into the ring. Anderson stomps away on Styles, but Styles gets back to his feet. Styles comes off the ropes, but Anderson takes him down with a back-drop and gets a two count. Anderson locks in a submission down on the mat. Styles fights out and rolls Anderson up for a two count. Anderson takes Styles right back down to the mat. Styles comes back and slams Anderson down to the mat and gets a two count. Styles picks Anderson up, but Anderson goes behind and tries to slam Styles in the corner, but Styles reverses. Anderson gets Styles on the top rope and plunges him off for a two count. Styles comes back and sets Anderson on the top rope and delivers the hesitation dropkick in the corner. Kurt Angle charges the ring and attacks Styles and the referee calls for the bell.
Winner via disqualification: A.J. Styles.
After the match, Angle continues to attack Styles before Aces and Eights attacks them both. Sting, Samoa Joe, and Magnus comes to the ring to even the odds and guys are fighting everywhere around the ring. Bully Ray and Sting are slugging it out in the ring and Sting applies the Scorpion Deathlock before Devon attacks. Ray and Devon deliver the 3D and Aces and Eights stand tall over Sting in the ring as Impact Wrestling comes to a close.
