Wrestling By The Numbers: Sakamoto
World Wrestling Entertainment has announced the release of wrestler Sakamoto. The 30-year-old Machida Japan native whose real name has not been verified, had spent the previous 2-years with the organization. Sakamoto was signed by the WWE in the summer of 2011 to a developmental contract and was assigned to Florida Championship Wrestling. He was brought up to the main roster in March of 2012 as the manager of the re-debuting Lord Tensai. After Tensai’s character was redeveloped Sakamoto was removed as his manager by the end of the summer. In November Sakamoto was sent to NXT Wrestling where he competed most recently in a tag-team with Briley Pierce prior to his release on May 17th.
Sakamoto who was previously known as Kazma is a 10-year professional wrestling veteran who first debuted in May of 2003 after having been trained by Taka Michinoku. Kazma competed in Japan for numerous organizations including New Japan Pro Wrestling, All Japan Pro Wrestling and Pro Wrestling NOAH. He competed regularly for 8-years for the Kaientai Dojo where he main evented and gained his most success becoming a 1-Time K-DOJO Strongest-K Champion and a 3-Time K-DOJO Strongest-K Tag-Team Champion.
