April Hunter comments on Angelina Jolie having her breasts removed

April Hunter via Facebook:

Having breasts removed as preventative when you don’t HAVE breast cancer is insane. Cancer is NOT a matter of chance or luck. It’s a matter of cause & effect. Angelina Jolie -and I adore her – but she has set a terrible example for women at high risk. Cancer can be avoided by lifestyle choices instead chopping breasts off. So, she was at 87% risk. She’s lived healthy her entire life…the real truth is that she fell into the other 13%. Thanks to her, women will sadly continue to be ignorant of what they can do to truly PREVENT, seeing lobbing boobs off as the only way to go. And we will all go on walking, running and jumping rope “for a cure” that will never happen…because it’s far too profitable to allow others to get sick instead of educating them on how to stay well.

It IS a matter of chance. You can’t “avoid” cancer. Her biological risk factors were extremely high and “healthy” living is no guarantee that she’s been free of environmental factors as well. But hey, good for April hunter if she thinks we live in a just, rational, and predictable world where bad things only happen to people that live in a bad way and if you have cancer it’s because of something you did. Cause and effect, right?

In my opinion, if she HAD cancer, then I could have seen it happening. But, I COULD have a family history of lung cancer… but I’m not gonna have my lungs removed! Get real, people! It’s one thing if it’s a life or death situation or presented in that fashion… but to chop off a body part because you “might” have an issue with it is crazy! But… whatever.

Ehhh cut off the real ones that at her age are starting to sag & plop in some fake ones that’ll stay nice n perky for 20+ years to come guaranteeing her more leading roles…. It was a career move not a health move.

Grow up, Trig. Jolie didn’t, and doesn’t have cancer. She had her breasts removed for being high risk? Jolie is known for being crazy as it is… and you want to defend self-mutilation for no logical or medical reason? Idiocy.

That isn’t an apple-apples comparison. You need your lungs to live. Women do not need their breasts to survive. Breast cancer is fast moving and by the time it is detected, it can be too late. I think Jolie is brave for doing this since her “brand” depends heavily on her looks.

The one thing I agree with in Hunter’s statement is that there is more money to be made treating disease than there is curing it. There are some evil people running this world.
