Impact to air live from Scotland in January

TNA President Dixie Carter announced today while in Glasgow, Scotland,
that TNA will be broadcasting its first ever live TV show from outside the
United States in 2014. The important date to mark down is January 30,
2014, with the live show taking place at The Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland.
“It’s historical for a number of reasons. One, it’s the first time that
we¹ve ever broadcast live out of the United States – outside the country
and it’s the first time in this big beautiful building that you see behind
me that we’re really excited for,” Carter said. Challenge TV – the
broadcast partner of TNA in the United Kingdom – will also be showing the
event live. “That will be the first time they’ve not been delayed for
several days. It will be the first time that everyone in the UK will get
to see IMPACT Wrestling live,” Carter said. January 30 will fall on a
Monday and the show will only be live in the United Kingdom since
different time zones makes it impossible to broadcast the show in the
United States live as well.

Scottish fans are the best in the world (check out videos of the Tartan Army for those who doubt about it). I’m sure this Impact will be awesome.

  2. This is quite a big deal for TNA. Congrats.

  3. Fisha695 says:

5hr time difference (to the US East Coast) means that either the show will be held at like 1am Scotland time or will be on at 3pm Eastern

  4. @Fisha695 Read the last sentence.

We won’t see it live. Just the UK.

  6. Meh says:

About time. Now if only WWE would follow suit instead of taping Raw in advance when WWE comes to the UK.

  7. Chris says:

The US could see it live. WWE are able to show Raw live on Monday nights in the UK, regardless of the fact its the early hours of the morning here. I have never understood why they never attempt it the other way round whilst on a UK tour, then just repeat it at the usual time slot

  8. Fisha695 says:

Check your calenders, January 30th 2014 is a Thursday not a Monday. That last sentence also isn’t what Dixie said it was commentary (wrong commentary) added on by I guess whoever Colin Vassallo is.

  9. Fisha695 says:

Actually the next time January 30th will be a Monday is not until 2017 & the last time it was a Monday was back in 2006.
