Strong numbers for Wrestlemania 29

WWE’s public relations tweeted:

@WrestleMania 29 grossed $12.3 million, as 80,676 fans from all 50 states and 34 countries converged on @MLStadium.

80,676 = @WrestleMania 29 is the second most-attended Mania of ALL TIME, behind only the 93,000+ at WrestleMania III.

The show also set a new MetLife Stadium live gate record, breaking the previous record of $8.9 million for a U2 concert in 2011.

    Thank god I wasn’t one of those poor bastards.

  2. Captain Ass says:

    Did you actually WATCH the show, Blacky? If not, you have no place to talk about it.

    Watching the show now, myself. It really is as disappointing as I was afraid of. It looks like WrestleMania but it reminds me a lot of WM 9. Oh well, they can’t all be great. The Super Bowl has had many crappy years. You would think that they could have booked better matches though. That is a luxury actual sports do not have.

    Worst mania ever

  5. Gaul says:

    Anyone who says worst mania ever hasn’t watched some of the mid-90s manias.

  6. AJ Starr says:

    Definitely one of the worst of all time.
    Full of “time restraints” which got a match cut, in order to air videos and have a guy perform songs no one’s cared about for over a decade?

    Even the WWE didn’t care about their Wrestlemania this year. No turns, nothing definitively ended, and they had to rush a THREE HOUR SHOW. Shows how much effort they put into it.

    @AJ Starr
    Dude, Diddy had a 5 star match vs. Grammar.

  8. Fisha695 says:

    The only reason it was the highest grossing Mania is because they jacked up the ticket prices to insane amounts.
