1979 – Abdullah The Butcher wins the AJPW Champion’s Carnival, defeating Jumbo Tsuruta in the final after both men tied on 24 points


In 1997, WCW Spring Stampede was held in Tupelo, Mississippi

– Akira Hokuto defeats Madusa to retain the WCW Womens Title
– Prince Iaukea defeats Lord Steven Regal to retain the WCW Television Title
– Dean Malenko fought Chris Benoit to a no-contest (Malenko retains the WCW United States Title)
– Kevin Nash defeats Rick Steiner to retain the WCW World Tag Team Titles for The Outsiders. The match was scheduled to be Hall & Nash vs The Steiners but Hall no-showed and Scott Steiner was kayfabe arrested to compensate
– Lex Luger defeats The Giant, Booker T & Stevie Ray in a Four Corners Match
– Diamond Dallas Page defeats Randy Savage in a No-DQ Match

Title Changes

1980 – Junkyard Dog & Buck Robley defeat The Fabulous Freebirds (Michael Hayes & Terry Gordy) to win the MSW Tag Team Titles

1991 – The British Bruisers (The Dynamite Kid & Johnny Smith) defeat Tsuyoshi Kikuchi & Kenta Kobashi to win the vacant AJPW All Asia Tag Team Titles

2002 – Rocky Reynolds defeats Jason Rumble to win the NWA Junior Heavyweight Title
