WWE Movie Scores Big at the Box Office



WWE Studios movie, “The Call”, starring Halle Berry, came in second place and earned 17.1 million dollars this weekend, and beat out “The Incredible Burt Wonderstone”, which also debuted this weekend starring Steve Carell and Jim Carrey. Disney’s “Oz The Great and Powerful” remained the No. 1 movie in North America and earned 42.2 million dollars.

This movie is on track to become the most successful WWE movie since they started producing their own films in 2004. The Marine, starring John Cena, made a world wide total of $22,165,608 for it’s entire run and opened at $7,138,774 during the October 6th weekend in 2006.

“The Call” was released in 2,507 theaters with a production budget of 13 million dollars. David Otunga was in the movie and played the role of Officer Jake Devans.

    Story Arc for Wrestlemania? Someone kidnaps Vince and Alicia Fox[Token Black woman] has to save him, turn out it was Rikishi. All jokes aside, this seems like a great thing for Otunga, I mean crap their giving Barrett a HUGE push, and he was barely in the movie too. And that one didn’t do nearly as well.
