2002 – El Canek wins the AAA Rey de Reyes Tournament, defeating Pirata Morgan, Cibernetico & Octagon


In 2000, CMLL Juicio Final: Homenaje a Dos Leyendas was held in Mexico City. This year saw another tweak to the event’s name, but retained the same tribute format as before

– Brazo de Plata, Mr Niebla & Emilio Charles Jr defeat Los Capos (Apolo Dantes, Cien Caras & Universo 2000)
– Shocker, Mascara Ano 2000 & Scorpio Jr defeat Perro Aguayo, Tarzan Boy & Rayo de Jalisco Jr
– Atlantis defeats Villano III in a Mask vs Mask Match

In 2002, WWF Wrestlemania X8 was held in Toronto, Canada. This was the final Mania held under the WWF banner and was the second and, to date, last to be held outside the USA

– Rob Van Dam defeats William Regal to win the WWF Intercontinental Title
– Diamond Dallas Page defeats Christian to retain the WWF European Title
– Maven fought Goldust to a no-contest to retain the WWF Hardcore Title
– The Undertaker defeats Ric Flair in a No-DQ Match to go 10-0 at WrestleMania
– Billy & Chuck defeat The APA (Bradshaw & Faarooq), The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray & D-Von) & The Hardy Boyz (Matt & Jeff) in a Four Corners Match to retain the WWF Tag Team Titles
– Jazz defeats Trish Stratus & Lita in a Triple Threat Match to retain the WWF Womens Title
– Triple H defeats Chris Jericho to win the WWF Undisputed Title

Also in 2002, CMLL Homenaje a Dos Leyendas: El Santo y Salvador Lutteroth was held in Mexico City. This years event reverted to the original name of the show, dropping the Juicio Final title which had been used for the previous two years

– Los Infernales (Averno, Mephisto & El Satanico) defeat El Felino, Negro Casas & Super Parka
– Rayo de Jalisco Jr, Shocker & Vampiro defeat Universo 2000 & Los Guerreros del Infierno (Tarzan Boy & Ultimo Guerrero)
– Blue Panther, Dr Wagner Jr & Fuerza Guerrera defeat Antifaz del Norte, Black Warrior & Mr Niebla to win the vacant CMLL Trios Titles
– Gran Markus Jr defeats Veneno in a Hair vs Mask Match, forcing Veneno to unmask

In 2006, CMLL Homenaje a Dos Leyendas was held in Mexico City. A brief reconciliation between CMLL and El Hijo del Santo saw this event honor Salvador Lutteroth and El Santo as before

– Dos Caras Jr, Lizmark Jr & Ultimo Dragon defeat Damian 666, El Terrible & Mr Aguila
– Los Guerreros de Atlantida (Atlantis, Rey Bucanero & Ultimo Guerrero) defeat Blue Panther, Dr Wagner Jr & LA Park
– Mistico, Heavy Metal & Negro Casas defeat Averno, Mephisto & Olimpico
– Perro Aguayo Jr defeats Universo 2000 in a Hair vs Hair Match

Title Changes

1982 – Bob Roop defeats Ted DiBiase to win the MSW North American Title

1993 – Big Van Vader defeats Sting to win the WCW World Title

1999 – Koji Kanemoto defeats Jushin Liger to win the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title

2001 – Scott Norton defeats Kensuke Sasaki to win the IWGP Heavyweight Title

2009 – on Smackdown, MVP defeats Shelton Benjamin to win the WWE United States Title
