A video package of the Lockdown pay-per-view is aired that focuses on the match between Jeff Hardy and Bully Ray for the TNA World Championship. Aces & Eights involved themselves in the match as Ray showed his true colors and revealed himself as the president of the club as he became the new World Champion.
We head into the Sears Centre Arena and are welcomed to the show by the announce team, who tell us we will see exclusive footage of Brooke Hogan’s reaction from what went happened this past Sunday and we will also see the return of AJ Styles. We then head into the first match of the night, which is for the TNA Tag Team Championship.
Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez make their way to the ring for a shot at the Tag Team Championship but Aces & Eights run into the ring and brutally beat them down. Aces & Eights clear Chavo and Hernandez from the ring as Devon grabs a microphone and tells the people of Chicago to shut the hell up. Devon says Aces & Eights are going to dominate from this point on and then introduces the president, the new TNA World Champion, Bully Ray.
Ray comes out to the ring and D’Lo Brown puts an Aces & Eights vest on him. Ray then grabs the microphone and says he is the guy that used Sting, screwed Brooke, and made a fool out of Hulk Hogan and all the fans. Ray says he has been pulling the wool over everyones eyes for nine months and says he was proud of himself after hitting Jeff Hardy in the back of the head with a hammer.
Ray says it wasn’t supposed to go down like that as the original plan was to leave the cage when Wes Brisco and Garret Bischoff entered the cage, however, Hulk Hogan had to stop him and give him a pep talk. Ray then says he did something with the Aces & Eights in one night than what the nWo ever did. Ray then challenges Hogan to come out and try to fire all of them as the fans begin a “Hogan!” chant as Ray says it won’t happen.
Sting is backstage and says Bully Ray is digging a grave for TNA and it is pissing him off. Sting says he wants to get his hands on him and has to go talk to Hogan. The announce team then hype a Knockouts tag team match that will be coming up after the break.
We see video of the Knockouts Championship match from this past Sunday at Lockdown where Taryn Terrell got involved and took Gail Kim down with a spear. A pre-recorded video is aired when Gail Kim thanks Brooke Hogan for putting Taryn on probation as we head into the first match of the night.
Match 1: Gail Kim & Tara vs. Mickie James & Velvet Sky
The match starts and Velvet starts out strong against Gail before tagging Mickie into the match. Velvet and Mickie hits Gail with a few double team moves before Mickie takes over control of the match. Mickie takes Gail down with an enziguri for a near fall as we then head into a commercial break. We return to the action to see Tara in control over Mickie and distracts Taryn as Gail works over Mickie behind the referee’s back. Gail is tagged in and the two take Mickie down with a double slingshot suplex for another near fall. Gail continues to get into Taryn’s face, which gives Mickie an opening to take Gail down with a hurricanrana. Mickie then makes the hot tag to Velvet and Tara is also tagged in.
Velvet comes in and takes Tara down with a flurry of offense for a near fall, but it is broken up by Gail. Gail then gets in Taryn’s face some more before pie facing her and knocking her down. Taryn then gets up and slaps Gail across the face as Mickie heads to the top rope and takes Gail down. Tara then gets up and takes Mickie down with the Widow’s Peak, but Velvet recovers and takes Tara down with the In Yo Face to pick up the pin fall to win the tag team match.
The announce team then hype the footage of Brooke’s breakdown and we see footage of what happened earlier on the show with Aces & Eights. We then see the group hanging out backstage and Bully Ray proposes a toast to the best brother and baddest men he knows. Ray then jokes about not hearing from his wife for a while and tries to call her but Brooke sends Ray to voice mail. Ray leaves a message to call him back and to tell dad he says hello as we head into a commercial break.
Hulk Hogan is backstage and brushes off the camera man who tries to get Hogan to answer a few questions. We then see a video package on the former friendship between Robbie E. and Robbie T., which brings us to our next match of the night.
Match 2: Robbie E. vs. Rob Terry
Before the match, Robbie E. grabs a microphone and says what happened at Lockdown was a fluke and it won’t happen again tonight. The bell sounds and Robbie tries to hit Terry with a few punches but Terry then sends Robbie E. crashing to the match. Terry continues to power Robbie E. around and slams him down to the mat and picks up the easy pin fall as the Chicago fans begin a “Feed me more!” chant. After the match, Terry does some dancing and one armed pushups in the ring in celebration.
We then see Sting walking into Hulk Hogan’s office and Hogan gives him a stern look as we head into a commercial break.
Aces & Eights are backstage and Bully Ray is upset over TNA not having any Aces & Eights merchandise at the stand. Ray wants to hurt someone over it and tells DOC to open the TNA book and the first person he sees is going to get hurt. A random page is opened and the group laughs as Ray says it isn’t going to be easy, but they’ll get the job done.
We head into Hulk Hogan’s office and Hogan blames everything on Sting for allowing him to believe that Bully Ray was a good guy. Hogan says Ray is in control of TNA and his daughter is in a bad position. Sting tells Hogan not to fire anyone and he wants to take care of Ray. Hogan says Sting is done and he doesn’t have time talk to him and orders Sting to get out of his office.
The announce team talks about what just went down between Hulk Hogan and Sting before turning their attention to AJ Styles. We then see a video package of what has gone down over the past year with Styles and we will be hearing from Styles after the commercial break.
Sting is walking backstage and is stopped by Bobby Roode and Austin Aries. The two agree with Hulk Hogan and saying it is his fault and think that he should be embarrassed. They also say it is his fault that they can’t wrestle in front of the fans of Chicago as Aces & Eights interrupted their match. Sting then says he wants to fight one of them tonight as Roode makes his exit. Sting then says he is going to fight Aries before walking away.
AJ Styles’ music hits but he doesn’t come out of the entrance. Bad Influence’s music hits as the two come out to the ring wearing Road Warrior/LOD makeup, Daniels with Hawk’s facepaint and Kazarian with Animal’s. Kazarian grabs a microphone and says they are bringing Throwback Thursday to the Second City by paying tribute to the second best tag team in wrestling. They are then cut off by James Storm’s music who comes out with a microphone and says he doesn’t like how they are mocking one of the greatest tag teams in history before asking which one of them wants to get the living crap kicked out of them right now.
Match 3: James Storm vs. Christopher Daniels
Storm pulls Daniels into the ring to get this match started and works him over for a bit before he is finally tripped up by Kazarian. Daniels continues to work over Storm and picks up a near fall after hitting a springboard moonsault. Storm fights back and takes Daniels down with a bulldog before going for the Eye of the Storm, however, Daniels escapes and takes Storm down with a slam. Daniels tries for a BME but Storm rolls out of the way and hits Daniels with the Closing Time. Storm sets up for the Last Call but Kazarian distracts him. Daniels tries to capitalize, but Storm counters and hits a back cracker to pick up the pin fall.
After the match, Kazarian runs into the ring and attacks Storm as Daniels joins in. AJ Styles then makes his way out to the ring and clocks Kazarian with a hard right as Daniels bails from the ring. Styles then stares down the two of them before turning around and clocking Storm that sends him crashing to the canvas. Styles then leaves the ring without saying a word.
A video package on Kurt Angle’s match against Wes Brisco from Lockdown is aired where Brisco stole a victory. Angle is seen walking backstage and Brisco calls out to Angle as Aces & Eights attack him while his back is turned. Angle is taken out as the group walks away and we head into a commercial break.
Footage of what just went down with AJ Styles is aired. Joseph Park’s music then hits as he makes his way to the ring and grabs a microphone. Park talks about winning a couple of matches over the past few weeks and it has made him take a step back and look back on his life. Park runs down his list of life accomplishments and says the highlight of his life is standing in the ring in front of his hometown crowd of Chicago. Matt Morgan’s music then cuts him off as he makes his way out to the ring.
Morgan tells Park to back up as Morgan turns his attention to Hulk Hogan and all of the mistakes he made with Bully Ray and Aces & Eights. Hogan’s biggest mistake, though, was with Joseph Park and giving him a professional wrestling contract. Morgan says he is going to start eliminating Hogan’s mistakes, one by one, starting with Park. Morgan advises Park to get out of the ring and Park begins to but has a change of heart after Morgan has some bad things to say about Chicago. Park says people of Chicago never back down from a fight and challenges Morgan to a fight. Morgan says they do things on his time and begins to leve the ring before coming back and leveling Park with a Carbon Footprint. Morgan then tells Park that his time is next week and leaves the ring.
The announce team hypes the match between Sting and Austin Aries, which is up next after the commercial break.
Aces & Eights are backstage and are glad on taking on Kurt Angle. Ray then sends a message to Hulk Hogan and tells him to fire them if he has the balls. Ray says he has destroyed his family and will now destroy his show. Ray then thinks that sounds like a good idea and tells the rest of the group to get moving.
A video package on the main event of Lockdown is aired that also shows footage of Brooke’s reaction, where she threw things around and cried before saying she didn’t want to be here anymore.
Match 4: Austin Aries vs. Sting
The match starts as Aries takes Sting down a showboats a bit in the opening moments. Sting then comes and kicks Aries a few times but misses with a Stinger Splash as Roode pulls Aries out to safety. Roode then trips up Sting and pulls him out to the floor, but Sting sends him into the railing before hitting him with a Stinger Splash. Aries then heads to the top rope and tries to take out Sting, but Aries ends up hitting Roode. Sting then sends Aries into the guard railing as we head into a commercial break.
We return to the match and see Aries take control of the match until Sting sends him out to the floor with a clothesline. Roode then tries to get involved once more but the referee tosses him from the ringside area. The distraction, though, allows Aries to hit Sting with a low blow and follows with a suicide dive through the ropes and against the railing. Back in the ring, Aries continues to wear down Sting and picks up a couple of near falls in the process.
Aries begins to work on Sting’s knee and tries to put Sting in a Scorpion Death Lock but doesn’t know how to start it. Sting then takes Aries down and Sting goes for his submission hold but Aries escapes and rolls out of the ring. Aries then hangs Sting up on the top rope and follows with a missile dropkick, but Sting pops right back up. Sting then takes Aries up for a press slam before going for a Stinger Splash but Aries gets out of the way. Aries then hits Sting with a Stinger Splash and goes for a brainbuster, but Sting counters and hits the Scorpion Death Drop for a near fall.
Sting then hits Aries with a Stinger Splash and puts Aries into the Scorpion Death Lock, however, Aces & Eights rush the ring and begin beating Sting down as the referee calls for the bell. Bully Ray grabs a microphone and tells Sting that he used him and wonders if he did something memorable like Hulk Hogan wanted. Ray then calls Hogan out as we head into a commercial break.
We return to the show to hear Hulk Hogan’s music hit. Hogan comes out onto the stage with crutches and says firing Ray would be the easy way out and he doesn’t want to go that route. Hogan says from this point forward he is empowering every member of the TNA roster to band together and go up against Aces & Eights. Jeff Hardy’s music hits as the TNA roster spills out from the back and attacks Aces & Eights.
Kurt Angle, Magnus, Samoa Joe, Rob Terry, Joseph Park, Jeff Hardy, Hernandez and Chavo Guerrero are all fighting but Aces & Eights are able to stand up to them and beat the group down in a pretty weak and slow brawl. Ray then gets back on the microphone and wonders if this is memorable enough as he starts whipping the TNA roster with a chain. Ray then begins walking towards Hogan and tells him that his calvary just got killed by Aces & Eights and wonders what Hogan is going to do now as Impact Wrestling comes to a close.
