Paul Bearer told friend he had been suffering respiratory issues

At the Gulf Coast Wrestling Reunion in Mobile, AL on 3/1 and 3/2, William “Paul Bearer” Moody was having severe breath problems, telling friends that he had been suffering respiratory issues, reports The Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Moody was the emcee for the hometown event, but had trouble standing for long periods of time and was using a wheelchair, as we had previously reported. He went to the hospital after dinner hoping to return, but never made it back to the event. Moody learned in the hospital that he had suffered a blood clot. He remained hospitalized until passing away.
