- In Akiyama’s debut match, he was defeated by Kenta Kobashi
- On October 2, 1992, Akiyama, Giant Baba & Masanobu Fuchi defeated Dory Funk Jr, Johnny Smith & The Patriot (Akiyama’s first televised match and first victory)
- On January 15, 1993, Akiyama defeated Al Perez (Akiyama’s first singles win)
- On January 29, 1994, Akiyama defeated Takao Omori to win the AJPW Asunaro Cup
- On January 29, 1995, Akiyama & Takao Omori defeated The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) in the final of a tournament to win the vacant AJPW All Asia Tag Team Titles
- On January 27, 1996, Akiyama & Omori defeated The Eagle & The Lacrosse to retain the AJPW All Asia Tag Team Titles
