Is Linda McMahon planting more political seeds?

So much for Linda McMahon entering the witness protection program.

A few months removed from her $100 million splurge on bookend losses for the U.S. Senate, the former first lady of professional wrestling is re-engaging in the world of Republican politics.

McMahon, 64, recently penned an op-ed piece for the Huffington Post website — a most ironic platform — on the role women can play in an economic recovery that quoted Alexis de Tocqueville.

She regularly updates her Facebook page, which has 57,000 followers.

The Greenwich resident and the former chief executive of WWE gave several thousand dollars to the state Republican Party just last week, Hearst Connecticut Newspapers has learned.

It comes as McMahon is scheduled to sit down with state GOP Chairman Jerry Labriola Jr. next week in Stamford.

“I think Linda wants to be helpful,” Labriola told Hearst. “She cares deeply about the state of Connecticut, our nation and the damage done to our economy by the Democrats in Hartford and Washington.”
