WWE Rebranded as WWE 2K14 Under 2K Sports Label

2K, a wholly owned publishing label of Take-Two Interactive today
officially announced the take over of the WWE video game license from THQ.
2K now holds the exclusive worldwide rights to publish the WWE video games
across all major platforms and distribution channels. Yukes will continue
to develop the game in Japan and the THQ/WWE team who worked on the games
before will continue to work on WWE ’14 for 2K. ³The WWE series is a great
addition to our stable of triple-A titles, and we’re very happy with this
exclusive agreement with our new partners,” said David Ismailer, Chief
Operating Officer for 2K. “We look forward to capturing the excitement of
WWE and marrying it with the same commitment to authenticity and
entertainment that we give to our NBA 2K and MLB 2K franchises.” 2K is the
team behind the popular NBA 2K series and Greg Thomas, Executive Vice
President of 2K Sports, said that combining their background in developing
the NBA game with the WWE franchise will result in the most authentic WWE
video game experience on game consoles.

Wonder if it’s gonna sell as crapily as the other 2K branded titles.

  2. Skeeter Valentine says:

@Fisha If it’s made as crappily as the other ones

  3. ELNYIS says:

I wish they would have kept the original “’14” name. 2K14 sounds stupid.

  4. You guys are stupid says:

Yea you guys are right, the NBA 2K series sells like crap and is made like crap, hence why they get such horrible reviews every year. /sarcasm You guys have no idea what you are talking about. 2K has been so dominant that EA has dropped out of the basketball market for years.

  5. Deathedge says:

Look at thier MLB franchise if you want an idea at how badly this could go. Heck, their NFL franchise was overrated for years all because of presentation. Gameplay wise, basketball games are the only thing 2K always delievers something good.

I’m not going to say it’s going to suck, as 2K Games CAN produce something good… but I see why people are skeptical.

  6. Boogeyman says:

This could go one of two ways. Badly like MLB, there attempt at NHL and NFL or it could go great. But by the stupid ass name. It’s not looking good

  7. 2912clovet says:

2K have made loads of awesome games (xcom, borderlands, bioshock, ect..) but there’s better companies for sports games, saying that there’s no harm in letting them try
