WWE Monday Night Raw Results 2/18/13

-WWE Monday Night Raw Results  2/18/13 Lafayette Cajundome in Lafayette, LA 

 

John Cena comes out to kick things off and points at the big WrestleMania sign. Cena says the road to WrestleMania is heating up. He points to the big WrestleMania sign, again and says it was just a sign to him but now it means something because he gets to face the Rock for the WWE title.

 

CM Punk along with Paul Heyman interrupts Cena and heads to the ring. Punk asks Cena if he is sure that he is wrestling the Rock at WrestleMania? He calls that the easy way out. Punk says as far as wins and losses, Cena never beat him. Cen says he earned the right for the title match at the Royal Rumble and for once it is not about CM Punk.

 

CM Punk says Cena was lucky to win the Rumble and calls Cena versus Rock déjà vu. Says Cena can’t win the big one and needs to just walk away since he has something that belongs to him. Cena declines and says Punk should be intelligent enough to realize he will not hand over a golden over ticket. Cena says he wants to shut up the critics that say he doesn’t deserve to be in the main event at WrestleMania.

 

Cena says he won’t hand over the golden ticket but he will put it on the line in a match. Says Punk talks business but he handles business. If Punk wins, tonight, he gets Cena’s WrestleMania title shot and if Cena wins, Punk crawls back to the hole he came from. Punk accepts but says he will not do it here but he will do it next week, on his terms and leaves the ring. Cena says it’s official and that next week, everyone will know that the champ is here!

 

-Sheamus is interviewed by Matt Striker while Ryback keeps walking and back and forth into the shot while Sheamus says he found a weakness in the Shield.  Sheamus gets mad at Ryback and asks him if he thinks he is the only one affected by their loss to the Shield and asks him if he is the mindless Neanderthal that everyone thinks he is.

Ryback snatches up Sheamus and Chris Jericho breaks it up before they come to blows. Jericho says he has experienced groups attacks from the NWO and Nexus but the Shield is on another level. Says if he asks for the match, Vickie won’t be able to ignore the box office appeal of the three of them versus the Shield, tonight on RAW IS JERICHO. Sheamus and Ryback agree, Jericho leaves and Ryback yells “FEED ME MORE” at Sheamus.

 

-Mark Henry vs. Sin Cara:

 

Sin Cara throws some leg kicks but Henry squashed him with a forearm to the back. Sin Cara takes a hard buckle to the corner and Henry stands on his back. Henry whips him for another hard buckle and runs in for a big splash. Sin Cara stuns Henry with a kick to the jaw and but Henry catches Sin Cara off the apron and hits a running powerslam and the WSS for the win.

 

Winner: Mark Henry

 

Henry chokes Sin Cara and goes for another WSS but The Great Khali comes out to make the save. Henry bails under the bottom rope and mocks Khali’s dancing and says he will not mess with someone who dances because that all Khali is good for.

 

Vickie announces via Twitter that Ryback, Y2J, & Sheamus vs. The Shield will happen, tonight.

 

 

-Antonio Cesaro vs. The Miz (No Disqualification)

 

Cesaro gets clotheslined over the top rope and hit with double ax handle from the apron. Cesaro cuts off Miz, picks him up and rams him, shoulder first into the steel post. Cesaro throws a chair and a kendo stick into the ring and whacks Miz with the kendo stick. Cesaro picks up Miz but gets caught in a roll up but kicks out and hits Miz in the shoulder, again, with the kendo stick.

 

Cesaro locks up Miz injured arm in-between the steel chair seat and gives it one good kick. Cesaro picks up Miz but Miz slides out and goes for his neckbreaker combo but Cesaro shoves him into the corner where a steel chair has been placed. Cesaro follows up with several European uppercuts in the corner and misses the charge into the coener due to Miz getting his foot up. Miz drop toe holds Cesaro into a steel chair and follows up with the figure four leg lock and Cesaro taps.

 

Winner: The Miz

 

A You Tube video is shown with Zeb Colter and Jack Swagger and they talk about immigrants stealing the wealth of our country by asking for a hand out. Colter says no more and if they want a hand out he will give them a hand out in the form of a one way ticket back to wherever they came from. www.youtube.com/wethepeoplezeb

 

Back from commercial and Danial Bryan and Kane are backstage and Bryan asks why did he receive an uppercut instead of a hug, last night, in the chamber. He says he can’t trust Kane and doesn’t want him coming out for his match with Jack Swagger. Kane says he will ask for a singles match as well and that Bryan better not come out with him. Bryan says fine and Kane gets right in his face and says he better be a man of his word because he doesn’t deal well with snakes.

 

“IS SOMEONE TALKING ABOUT ME?” as Randy Orton appears. Kane repeats himself and Orton says that would have had him shaking in his boots a long time ago. Orton says Kane is a lot less intimidating ever since he traded his choke slams for group therapy and now he reminds him of Barney the dinosaur. Daniel Bryn cracks up laughing and says it was a good line as Kane turns around and Orton is gone.

 

Vickie meets with Paul Heyman and makes fun of him for the DQ stipulation in last night’s main event, not working in his favor. Vickie says she has news that will effect Paul Hayman’s life and career but won’t waste it backstage. Heyman says he hates surprises and Vickie says “I KNOW!”

 

-Dolph Ziggler with Big E Langston and AJ Lee vs. Alberto Del Rio with Ricardo Rodriguez

 

Ziggler drops Del Rio with a standing drop kick and runs off the ropes but Del Rio catches Ziggler with a kick that sends Ziggler to the apron and Del Rio follows up with a running enzuigiri that appears to have knocked Ziggler down and out as we go to commercial.

 

We are back  and Ziggler is all over Del Rio with kicks and eye rakes and nails him with another standing drop kick and chokes Del Rio in the ropes while Big E Langston punches Del Rio behind the refs back. Ziggler hits Del Rio with a knee to the gut and hits the rocker dropper for a two count.

 

Ziggler gets crotched on the top rope and Del Rio hits a reverse face first superplex from the top rope. They trade punches until Del Rio gets the upper hand with two clotheslines and a tilt awhirl back breaker. Follows up with a superkick but only gets a two count. Del Rio goes for the armbar but Ziggler reverses it into a neck breaker.

 

Del Rio reverses a whip into the corner and gets Ziggler tied up in the ropes and throws ten forearms to the kidney. Big E gets on the apron but Del Rio knocks him off hits the float over armbar and Ziggler taps out.

 

Winner: Dolph Ziggler

 

Big E Langston hits Del Rio with a cheap shot from behind and hits him with his finisher. Dolph Ziggler thinks about it and decides to cash in the briefcase. Ricardo intercepts the briefcase as Ziggler hands it off to the referee and Big E chases him to the locker room.

 

Ricardo drops the brief case during the chase and AJ runs to get it but by the time she hands it off to Ziggler, Del Rio drops him with a running enzuigiri and Ziggler is down and out.

 

-Wade Barrett is in the ring and talks about how the Barrett Barrage is about to conquer Hollywood and shows the trailer of his new movie “Deadman Down” starring Colin Farrell and Terrence Howard

 

Sheamus interrupts Barrett and says the movie looks great because Wade doesn’t say a word in the movie then Sheamus is told from a PA that they are out of time. Barrett is upset that his moment is ruined.

 

-Brodus Clay, Tensai, & Naomi vs. Primo, Epico and Rosa

 

Rosa and Naomi start things off and Naomi hits a jumping split legged butt shot to Rosa and follows up with an impressive springboard cross body for a two count. Epico tries to break up the pin and Naomi hits him with a running hurricanrana. Primo jumps in and is met with a clothesline from Tensai. Brodus tags in and they hits Primo with a double head butt and a double team big splash for the win.

 

Winners: Brodus Clay, Tensai, & Naomi

 

-Jack Swagger & Zeb Colter’s State of the Union Address

 

There are two yellow “Don’t Tred on Me” flags behind them as Swagger takes the podium. Swagger says last night, he put the weight of the nation on our shoulders and says Zeb is the only man honest enough to give the address.

 

Zeb thanks the founding the founding fathers for making the Bill of Rights. Zeb says the state of our union is pathetic because of the people who live in our country illegally. Zeb says Real Americans need to stand up and say no more.

 

Zeb says the WHC match at WrestleMania means so much more now because Swagger is Real American and Alberto Del Rio is only in this country to take advantage of our benefits. Zeb says a Swagger win at WrestleMania will reclaim the country for Real Americans, everywhere.

 

-Jack Swagger vs. Daniel Bryan

 

Back from the break and Bryan gets out of a reverse bear hug and Swagger attempts a back body drop but Bryan holds on and to the body and rolls him up and a two count. Bryan chops down Swagger with some leg kicks and attempts a surf board but Swagger powers out of it.

 

Bryan catches Swagger on the way in with a drop to hold that sends Swagger head first into the middle turn buckle. Bryan follows it up with a kick to the face and a chop block. Bryan runs off the ropes but Swagger clotheslines him out of the ring.

 

Swagger goes outside and attempts to ram Bryan into the post but Bryan slips out and pushes Swagger into the post. Bryan missed a jumping knee strike off the apron and Swagger picks him up and slams him into the ringside barricade. Back in the ring, Swagger hits Bryan with repeated knees to the gut and beals him out of the corner.

 

Swagger applies a submission hold but Bryan fights out of it only for Swagger to cut him off with a knee to the gut and follows up with a Swagger bomb for a two count. Bryan comes back with several legs kicks, a running clothesline and moves out of the way as Swagger charges in and falls out of the ring.

 

Bryan hits a running dive on Swagger and follows up with a drop kick from the top rope, in the ring. Bryan hits his signature kicks to the chest but Swagger catches him before the big one, lifts him up and drops him on his ribs. Bryan immediately catches him in the No Lock but Swagger gets to the ropes. Bryan charges into the corner for a running clothesline but Swagger moves and stomps on Bryan’s knee and follows up with a chop block and applies the Patriot Lock (no longer the Patriot Act) for the tap.

 

Winner: Jack Swagger

 

-Paul Heyman and Vickie Guerrero are in the ring and Vickie reminds him that her announcement could change Paul Heyman’s life and announces that her new assistant to the managing supervisor is…Brad Maddox.

 

Maddox says his appointment is a reward for his exposing the relationship between Heyman and the Shield. Maddox reiterates that he is the assistant managing supervisor and Vickie cuts him off saying he is assistant to the managing supervisor. Heyman says he is going to puke and leaves until Vince McMahon appears on the titan tron, via satellite.

 

He tells Heyman that Maddox is not the surprise. Vince reminds him of the stipulation for the WWE title match between Rock & CM Punk. Vince shows footage form last week where Heyman said he would do anything for the stipulation. Vince said for word “Anything” was put into writing in accordance to their deal.

 

Vince teases him firing him but says that would be too good for Heyman. Vince says that net week, he will walk to the ring and he and Heyman will have a fight. Heyman drops the microphone in shock as Vickie and Maddox laugh at him.

 

-The Shield vs. Ryback, Sheamus, & Chris Jericho

 

Ryback and Rollins start things off and Ryback spears Rollins in the corner to the point where Jericho and Sheamus have to break it up before they are disqualified. Jericho and Ambrose tag in and Ambrose gets nailed with an elbow to the jaw and a vertical suplex from Jericho.

 

Jericho follows up with a drop kick from the second rope and hits Ambrose with another elbow to the jaw and Ambrose hits Jericho with a knee to the gut. Jericho comes back with a cross body and tags Sheamus while Ambrose rushes to his corner and tags Roman Reigns.

 

Reigns and Sheamus trade stiff forearms until Sheamus gets the upper hand with some clotheslines, running knee lift and white noise. Sheamus calls for the Brogue Kick but Rollins pulls Reigns out of the ring and Ambrose catches the kick for his troubles as we go to commercial.

 

We are back Reigns is in control with  rear chinlock but Sheamus gets to his feet and gets cut off and Ambrose and Rollins each hit a running dropkick. Reigns gets tagged him but Sheamus hits a desperation clothesline and makes the hot tag to Ryback. Ryback hits Rollins with a high back body drop, spinebuster, and a meat hook clothesline. Ryback lifts up Rollins for Shell Shock and gets speared by Reigns and Rollins falls on Ryback for the cover and only a two count.

 

Ambrose tags in and put the boots to Ryback as the crowd chants Y2J. Ambrose works over Ryback in his corner and tags in Reigns. Ryback gets choked on the second rope and then Ambrose chokes him behind the referee’s back. Ambrose tags in and hit a delayed neckbreaker and tags in Reigns. Reigns misses a jumping splash in the corner and Ryback tags in Chris Jericho.

 

Jericho hits Ambrose with a running bull bog and a lionsault for a two count. Jericho goes for the WALLS but Ambrose rolls him up for a two count. Ambrose  picks up Jericho but Jericho reverses and gets him in the Walls of Jericho. Reigns tries to interfere but is cut off by Sheamus while Rollins takes out Ryback and hits Jericho with a knee drop from the top rope and Ambrose covers for the pin.

 

Winners: The Shield

 

-Damien Sandow vs. Kofi Kingston

Before the match, Sandow says he holds President’s Day near and dear to his heart. He says his family worked with the Presidents over the years and proposes a new deal that the fans remain silent. Your Welcome.

 

Sandow catches Kofi off guard and keeps hammering him with forearms and kicks. Kofi gets thrown into the steel post and keeps getting pounded on until R-Truth makes the save and hits Sandow with two scissor kicks and clotheslines him out of the ring. The match never got started as a result of Sandow’s actions.

 

– Randy Orton vs. Kane

 

Orton gets leveled with a shoulder tackle but Kane hurt his arm on contact. Orton goes to work on the arm and goes to the second rope and Kane hits him with an uppercut that sends Orton to the floor and we go to break.

 

Back from the break and Orton fights out of a rear chin lock and runs off the ropes but gets caught with a big boot. Kane measures him with stomps and kicks. Orton fights back but gets caught with a DDT for a two count. Kane clotheslines Orton in the corner and tries it again but Orton moves and hits Kane with ten punches in the corner. Kane hits the open hand to the throat and drop kicks Orton on the ground.

 

Orton fights out of a rear chinlock and hits the powerslam but Kane gets right up and hits Orton with a sidewalk slam. Kane misses a clothesline from the top rope and Orton attempts the hangmen’s DDT but Kane crotches Orton on the top rope. Daniel Bryan power walks to the ring and Kane is distracted long enough for Orton to hit the RKO for the 1-2-3.

 

Winner: Randy Orton

 

The University of Louisiana marching band comes out and performs a number to kick off the Rock’s championship celebration as the great one makes his way to the ring. The Rock says the best in the world wasn’t best enough as he got his ass beat for two pay-per-views in a row. He does his FINALLY gimmick and says he is going to WrestleMania as the WWE champion but he is not going with the current spinner belt. He says when the spinner belt was unveiled eight years ago, it worked but some people also believed in big foot. The Rock tells a ringside assistant to take the spinner belt, bring it backstage, and make sure it goes in the Hall of Fame.

 

Rock says the WWE title should never look like a toy and should never, ever, SPIN. Rock says when you see the WWE title, it should inspire you no matter who you are and should be worthy or the greats of the past who paved the way and mentions Bruno, Hogan, Hart, and Austin. Rock removes the cloak and unveils the new title belt which has a giant WWE plate in the center and brahma bull logos for the side plates.

 

The Rock questions who he is going to face at WrestleMania and says there is one man he wants to fight at WrestleMania and John Cena’s entrance music cuts him off before he can answer and Cena makes his way to the ring but gets blindsided by CM Punk as Punk hits him with the spinner belt. Cena is down and out on the ground as Punk looks at the spinner belt, throws it on the ground, points to the Rock, and says “I WANT THAT ONE.” Punk leaves as Cena is in pain and Rock doesn’t know what to make of it and that’s out show.
