WWE Elimination Chamber Preview and Predictions
Feb 17, 2013 - by Michael Riba
Tonight, WWE presents the fourth-annual Elimination Chamber Pay-Per-View event. There are currently six matches scheduled for the show, with an additional match scheduled for the pre-show. Of the six matches on the card, only one is slated to take place inside the Chamber, but there are still rumblings of another being placed inside the Chamber before the night is over. Without any further delay, here are my official previews and predictions for Elimination Chamber 2013.
Pre-Show Match: Brodus Clay and Tensai vs. Team Rhodes Scholars
This match features a tag team that has been recently formed, and one that has recently gone their separate ways, but are paired up once more. This match was just added to the pre-show this past week, so there has not been any build for it, other than the mention of it being made. As much as I want to see Team Rhodes Scholars win this one, it seems as though Clay and Tensai are getting a little bit of a push as a tag team, and I believe that will continue on tonight.
Prediction: Brodus Clay and Tensai.
WWE United States Championship Match: Antonio Cesaro (c) vs. The Miz
This feud has been brewing for a while now. My original prediction of Jack Swagger returning as a face to take the title away from Cesaro is now clearly out the window, so could The Miz be the guy to end Cesaro’s reign? Maybe. Cesaro has gotten more of the upper-hand in their scuffles on television in recent weeks, including when me slung The Miz repeatedly into the barrier in an impressive show of strength. These two should get some time to work tonight, and if it is the first match on the card, it should warm the crowd up for the remainder of the show.
Prediction: Antonio Cesaro retains the WWE United States Championship.
WWE Divas Championship Match: Kaitlyn (c) vs. Tamina Snuka
Tamina has been eying the Divas Championship for a while, as Kaitlyn was before she defeated Eve earlier this year. I feel like Kaitlyn’s run has just started and that is has a little bit to go, but on the other hand I could see Tamina getting the belt tonight. I see Tamina dominating most of the match, but slipping up at the end.
Prediction: Kaitlyn retains the WWE Divas Championship.
#1 Contender’s (World Heavyweight Championship) Elimination Chamber Match: Chris Jericho vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Jack Swagger vs. Kane vs. Mark Henry vs. Randy Orton
Last week, I said Randy Orton was the clear-cut winner in this match. After Swagger debuted Zeb Colter as his manager, I am not so sure. I am convinced that those two guys are the only two options to win. Go ahead and count out Kane, Bryan, Jericho, and Henry. Judging by recent events, I think Orton will be one of the first ones eliminated, followed by Kane, Henry, Jericho, and Bryan.
Winner and number one contender for the World Heavyweight Championship: Jack Swagger.
World Heavyweight Championship Match: Alberto Del Rio (c) vs. The Big Show
This will be the last match is this feud, obviously. It has been a pretty enjoyable feud, and Del Rio has really come into his own as a face. These two have had some pretty entertaining matches after the past couple of months, but it is time for both men to move on. We’ll see what WrestleMania 29 has in store for The Big Show, but Alberto Del Rio will go on to begin a feud with the “Real American” Jack Swagger.
Prediction: Alberto Del Rio retains the World Heavyweight Championship.
Six-Man Tag Team Match: John Cena, Ryback, and Sheamus vs. The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins)
I am worried about this match. This is the other match that has been rumored to be inside the Chamber, but that is not what is important right now. What is important is not burying The Shield. We have three of WWE’s brightest young stars on one side, and three of WWE’s established stars on the other. Sure, The Shield beat Ryback in a Six-Man Tag Team Match in December, but his partners were Kane and Daniel Bryan. This time, his partners are John Cena and Sheamus, and that scares me. While John Cena should not be decimated before his title match at WrestleMania 29, because he should not be made to look weak after he won the Rumble, The Shield should not be made to look like jokes either. I am going to go with the established guys picking up the win in this one, but my only hope is that The Shield looks strong and comes close to winning the match on a couple of occasions.
Winners: John Cena, Ryback, and Sheamus
WWE Championship Match: The Rock (c) vs. CM Punk
One thing is for sure in this match: CM Punk will not pin The Rock or make him tap out. That doesn’t matter, because Punk doesn’t need to do either of those things to win the Championship. The question still remains: why would Vince McMahon grant Paul Heyman his wish and add the stipulation to the match? Maybe we’ll find out tonight. I expect a couple of guys, Paul Heyman and Brad Maddox, to interfere on Punk’s behalf. This may be way out there, but could we see the referee being “paid off” by Vince to not disqualify The Rock if someone tries to attack Punk and get him the title? That’s a possibility. It’s also a possibility that Punk leaves New Orleans with the title. This one is quite difficult to predict, needless to say. But, in the end, I believe the WrestleMania 29 has been set in stone since WrestleMania XXVIII last year.
Prediction: The Rock retains the WWE Championship.

Swagger wins and Punk gets the title back on a fluke. This sets up Cena, Rock, Punk for the title in a 3 way at Wrestlemania. Rock has a tremendously busy schedule with all the Movie and TV stuff he is doing and they need the title represented on Raw all the way up Wrestlemania.
Randy orton is winning the Chamber match easy. No title changes tonight.
If Swagger v ADR is the smackdown headliner for WM29 they should dissolve the world title NOW. I think it’ll be a great fued but NOT for the world title. Jericho vs Ziggler should be the world title match at mania.
Pre-show: Brodus and Tensai
US Title: Antonio
Diva’s Title: Kaitlyn
Elimination Chamber: Swagger Orton and Jericho all have shots. I’m not sure, but I’m most confident in Jericho among those three
World Title: Del Rio
6 Man Tag: The Shield (I hope)
WWE Title: Rock. Contrary to John’s comments before Rock will be WWE Champion BECAUSE he has a busy schedule. When the Rock is giving an interview on TV he’ll have the WWE Championhip. Free advertising. Also he’ll be on TV basically every week. And besides, why would Rock win at Rumble just to lose three weeks later
Clay & Albert
Antonio
Bo Dallas new IC champ in a last minute throw in match
The shield
Jericho wins EC
ADR with Ziggler cash in. New WC Ziggler
The rock *eye roll & yawn*
I look for Big Show to wear out ADR and for Ziggy to cash in the MITB case and take the title from ADR, then for Jericho to win the chamber match setting up Ziggy vs Jericho for WM!!
Hmmm interesting but i think
Mark Henry wins the chamber
Rock retains
The Shield (fingers crossed)
Everyone else seems correct I really wonder if the WWE will actually shock us tonight.

Pre-show: I’m hoping the WWE seen the error in their ways with Sandow and Rhodes joining the jobbing squad in singles competition and decide to give them the win
and reunite them as a team.
diva’s title: Kaitlyn.
U.S Title: Antonio Casero to win this, expect him to hold the title until the PPV after Wrestlemania where he will drop it to the most popular midcard face at that time to start a main event fued and begin his climb to the WHC.
Elimination Chamber: This ones going to be taken by Y2J, he’ll be one of the first 3 in and stay till the finish, where he will pin swagger (just threw that in for bonus points)
WHC: The winner of this bout is clearly ADR, Show is on his way to jobbing at Mania and taking some time off, he’s monster gimmick is losing it’s steam and they need toget him off tv soon…. But that’s not the reason, you’ll see a bit later in my predictions
Six-man Tag: Okay, this is a hard one the WWE’s super babyfaces or the WWE’s stars of tomorrow? I say the Shield take the win, I have a feeling Ryback will be involved in the finish and Sheamus will be the one taking the pin…. Don’t expect to see much out of Cena, he’ll hit alot of offence but he’ll be far away from the finish, possibly handcuffed the the ropes or steel chain?
WWE Championship: Rock wins, no doubt about it, he retains, but the real question in this prediction for anybody, is how does he do it? With the stipulation added this past Monday, it’s hard to figure out how this story will fold out…. Vinve McMahon has set something up here, and it will all unfold tonight, CM Punk will get screwed out of his championship by the owner of the company and finally snap and go for the one thing he knows will gain him the respect he deserves, The Streak….. Be prepeared for a great pipebomb on RAW
Dolph Ziggler and his MITB Briefcase?
what happens tonight, regarding Dolph Zigglers MITB contract? Well, some people are saying that he’ll cash in and go on to face Jericho for the title at Mania…. I don’t believe this, I personally believe we will see some backstage footage of Ziggler and he may attack somebody or tease a cash in on the winner of the WHC match, but we will have to wait until smackdown, I’m geussing there will be a speech by ADR or Y2J, or possibly a contract signing, where Ziggler will announce that he’ll be cashing in at Mania and we will see
Alberto Del Rio(c) vs. Chris Jericho vs. Dolph Ziggler for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 29, which could quiet possibly bring some great tv time to the WHC which seems to be treated more like a midcard title on PPV.
