The Undertaker wrestling at Wrestlemania in question

Even though The Undertaker had previously committed to wrestling at Wrestlemania 29, his physical condition is being called into question and it is no longer fully confirmed he would be working the show.

The Undertaker was penciled in to face CM Punk at Wrestlemania.

Well, that won’t help the buy rate..

  2. Ryno says:

Just put him in the HoF already. As I sat there watching the Royal Rumble match and Sin Cara entered at Number 29, I knew there was no Deadman… the lights never went out, the gong never hit… I was disappointed. And, when the lights went out during CM Punk vs. The Rock, surely it couldn’t be The Shield, IT’S THE UNDERTAKER!? No… the gong, once again, never hit… Perhaps the era really is over… maybe the gong will never hit again… maybe it is finally Taker’s time to rest in peace? :(

When someone’s physical condition is that which they can only work one match a year, albeit an amazing one every time, it’s time to stop. And I say that will all due respect.

  4. T says:

I’d rather see him retire than embarrass himself at WM.

  5. Travis says:

If it is true… with Rock/Cena II all but crammed down our throats it makes me wonder what will happen with Punk now at WM.

  6. bravest PAPAyA says:

He just needs to stay at home with Michelle and the baby. He’s got nothing left to prove.

  7. Fisha695 says:

I still would love to see a Kane vs Taker year-long retirement feud that would end with Kane beating Taker at WM, but then Taker basically grabbing Kane by the throat after the match and pushing both of them into a standing casket (which the druids had brought out & sat on the stage) at which point pyro would go off and the casket would burn to ashes as Paul Bearer looks on and does his usually shrieking.

It would be the end of both the Undertaker & Kane characters, the streak & the last bit of “mysticism” from that bygone era of wrestling all in one fell swoop.

  8. kathy smith says:

it is his decision to make.. i will stand by him whatever he decides to do.. if he can’t be physically there then the best thing to do for him is to let him retire.. but wwe will loose the best wrestler ever.. good luck taker i will be behind you in whatever decision you make.. taker forever..

  9. Hipnosis says:

REAL STORY: Undertaker was told CM Punk would still be WWE Champion. Since he has no streak there’s no reason to fight him.

  10. -J- says:

yeah til the arena light go out and the bell tolls, u aint foolin me internets.

  11. jack says:

The answer to what to do wth Punk in Taker can’t compete is simple. The WWE title match becomes a riple threat.

  12. Joshua says:

The Undertaker is not healthy enough to give us a hig quality WrestleMania match. I rather he stay home and make a grant return around Survivor series this year and his last WrestleMania be next year.

Now, CM Punk can be added to the Cena-Rock prgram and the Triple Threat Match that would be epic is going to happen and I personally cant wait.

The other idea couild be the the WWE is putting out false rumors to make fans believe that he is not going to wrestle, because the plans for WrestleMania are top secret and Vince is not letting no one know

  13. Jempires One says:

Hard to imagine with the big money for a one-off match he would decide against it. Is he really going to turn down a millhouse for 20 minutes against Punk? Highly doubt it.

  14. Mau says:

Good news. He’ll scare the WWE kids. Replace him with Santino, Hornswoggle & the Muppets.

  15. StunningSteve says:

    Nice, Fisha. Let’s book it!

  16. jim says:

Taker had one more amazing match left last year and he left it all in the ring that night. He was noticeably older looking. I have all the respect in the world for him and if he cant go this year… so be it. Unless he wants to let punk put him away I don’t think theres any reason to come back for one more win. He went out undefeated at mania! Beating hbk and hunter of all people twice! He has done it all

  17. Tommy B says:

I completely with what echo said.If he can’t even wrestle once a year, it’s better he doesn’t embarass himself. It’s saying something when The Rock wrestles more often than you do.

He would’ve gone out on a good note reaching 20-0 in what was billed as the “End of a Era” match.

  18. What? says:

20-0 is a nice round number. I would still have the utmost respect for him if last Wrestlemania was his last match.

  19. jim says:

The only reason to come back would be to pass a torch. 21 and 0 is pointless

  20. enem V says:

let him leave wwf/e with an un tarnished wrestlemania win rate and Hall of fame him, We ALL respect Undertaker no matter what, he is WWF/e and that all i have to say really

sorry ran out of steam :)

  21. enem V says:

@Jim too true, Calloway has MORE than proven his worth, still hurts to know that its over……
but i will still remember his debut and watching it live when i was younger, and if this is the end, then thank you for the 20 years WWF/e gave us, myself and my kids are always in your corner…
