Hogan back surgery: I lost a $50 million shot at Cena

It was supposed to be the wrestling match to end all wrestling matches — Hulk Hogan vs. John Cena in a battle royale — but it was all dashed to pieces thanks to some bogus back surgery … according to Hulk Hogan … and it cost him $50 MILLION.

TMZ broke the story … Hulk filed a $50 million lawsuit against the Laser Spine Institute of Florida — claiming its doctors duped him into undergoing multiple procedures in 2009 that were completely useless and damaged his career.

Hulk doesn’t explain why he’s suing for $50 million in the lawsuit — but Hulk’s legal team (headed by Wil Florin) tells TMZ, the reason for the massive sum is a lucrative “phase out contract” that was torpedoed by the bad surgeries.

According to Hulk’s team, the contract outlined a blowout match between Hulk and Cena — a match that was supposed to be Hulk’s career ender — but thanks to the surgeries, it never happened.

Hulk’s claiming the contract — along with subsequent appearance opportunities — was worth $50 million.

LSI has yet to comment on the litigation.

  4. -J- says:

  10. M.J, Wright says:

$50 Million? Really…….(9 times) Vince would NEVER throw that amount his way, even if it was a deal that would have gone on for multiple years! Hulk aint worth it. Period!

  11. Scott says:

Hulk in his prime vs. Cena (or anyone else for that matter) in his prime is NOT worth $50 mil. Has Hulk Hogan taken the same stuff Billy Graham took?!?

  12. rebel says:

Ok, Hogan’s gone insane, Graham’s gone insane, Sheik’s been insane for a while, ditto for Warrior, Backlund’s borderline, Andre and Macho are gone or perhaps they would be insane as well (a case could be made for both prior to their deaths). The WWF title seems to have done strange things to people between the late 70s and early 90s…

Seriously, how the hell is Hogan gonna convince anyone he would have gotten 50 million? I don’t think anyone has made that much from matches during entire careers.

  13. dooman says:

just imagime how boring the 4 moves hulkster has against the 5 moves of doom they’d have to spend the 1st 15 mins staring blankly around trying to see who gets a better pop…only then would the match go 20 mins

  16. SimpleMark says:

The real winners here are is – the fans!! Thanks to LSI we didn’t have to witness this.. Let’s all chip in and pay their lawsuit if by chance it holds up..

  17. Asterik says:

First Bubba the Love Sponge now a Back Surgeon? So this is what Hogan is dwindled down to? Desperate for money so he has to sue anyone that marks him the wrong way. When Cena retires and is out of the WWE, I bet you 100 percent he’s going to be in the same boat as Hogan 25 years from now. I used to have respect for Hogan, but now I just pity him.
