12/18/12 Super Smackdown Live Coverage

Super Smackdown Live opens up with a video package of what happened at the end of TLC and Raw involving AJ Lee, Big E Langston, and John Cena. It also shows what happened between Sheamus and The Big Show. We see that Dolph Ziggler and The Big Show will take on John Cena and Sheamus in tag team action tonight.

We go into the arena, where The Miz’s music hits and he is in the ring, ready to host an edition of Miz TV. The Miz says his guests tonight caused more damage than Lindsey Lohan and a moving vehicle. He introduces Dolph Ziggler and AJ Lee, and Big E Langston joins them. They get into the ring and The Miz asks them “Why?” AJ tells The Miz to have John Cena as his guest and then to ask him why he toyed with her heart. She said she lost her job as GM to keep Cena’s name clean. We see various clips of things that happened throughout the storyline and AJ says he doesn’t care about anything or anyone but himself. AJ says she cared about John Cena, and that he was supposed to be different than any other guy. She said Cena broke her heart, so she helped Dolph break Cena. The Miz mouths Ziggler and calls AJ crazy, and Langston steps in between them and The Miz asks who he is. Ziggler calls The Miz clueless. Ziggler says Cena can keep the Slammy for Superstar of the Year, because he doesn’t need it. Ziggler says he still has the Money in the Bank briefcase, and he stole the show and Cena’s girlfriend. The Miz says he hopes Ziggler can satisfy all of AJ’s multiple personalities and calls him the sixth member of One Direction. Langston lays The Miz out.

We see Booker T walking backstage when Teddy Long walks up. Teddy says there’s a kid here tonight that he wants Booker to take a look at. Brad Maddox walks up. Booker asks Teddy what is wrong with him. Booker says Maddox is trouble, and Teddy says that may be so, but he has a great social media following and YouTube show. Teddy asks Booker if he is scared of controversy. Teddy says Booker of all people knows how important it is to have a second chance. Booker tells Teddy to tell him he has a match and he will find out his opponent when he gets out there.

Match #1: Damien Sandow (w/Cody Rhodes) vs. Sin Cara
Before the match, Rey Mysterio’s music hits but he doesn’t come out. Sandow backs Sin Cara into the corner, but Sin Cara comes back and sends him to the outside. Sin Cara kicks Sandow in the leg and comes off the ropes to take Sandow down. Sin Cara kicks Sandow in the head, and Rhodes knocks Sin Cara off the apron as the referee checks on Sandow. Sandow pounds away on Sin Cara and connects with a suplex for a one count. Sandow gets Sin Cara in a headlock and takes him down with a Side-Russian Legsweep and goes for the Elbow of Disdain, but Sin Cara moves out of the way. Sandow takes Sin Cara down with a forearm shot and drops a couple of elbows. Sandow takes Sin Cara to the apron and delivers another shot with the elbow. Sandow gets Sin Cara back in the middle of the ring for a two count and then applies another headlock. Sin Cara fights back and connects with a jaw breaker. Sandow charges Sin Cara in the corner, but he moves and Sandow goes chest-first into the turnbuckle. Sin Cara takes Sandow down with a hurricanrana and then a cross-body from the top rope for a two count. Sin Cara sends Sandow to the outside and then launches himself onto Rhodes and Sandow on the floor. We see The Shield walking down through the crowd and they hop the barrier. Reigns throws Mysterio’s mask into the ring and Sin Cara picks it up. Sandow drops Sin Cara with his finisher for the pin fall.
Winner: Damien Sandow.
After the match, The Shield beats down Sin Cara.

We see a video package of Flo Rida and Miss Piggy talking about being on Tribute to the Troops tomorrow night.

Match #2: Santino Marella vs. Tensai
Santino hides behind the referee and tries to talk to Tensai. Tensai takes him down with a shoulder block and stomps away on Santino. Santino power walks around the ring, but Tensai clubs him in the back and punches him in the head. Tensai slams Santino into the corner and delivers a few shots to his neck. Tensai gets Santino on his shoulders, but Santino gets free and tries to suplex Tensai. Santino picks Tensai up, but Tensai falls straight down on Santino. Tensai drops an elbow and delivers a headbutt for a two count. Tensai wrenches Santino’s neck, but Santino gets free and attempts a cross body. Tensai gets Santino in a sleeper, but Santino reverses with The Cobra. It has no affect and Tensai tries to drop down on Tensai, but Santino moves and pins Tensai.
Winner: Santino Marella

We take a look back at Raw last night when CM Punk interrupted Ric Flair and assaulted him. We also see when The Shield arrived before Team Hell No and Ryback came out for the save.

We go backstage and we see Kofi Kingston and Team Hell No backstage. Kane tells Kofi to grow eyes in the back of his head, because The Shield is here. Kofi tells Kane he hears him, but he wants to get his hands on Wade Barrett. Daniel Bryan is still upset because he didn’t win a Slammy last night. Kane begs him to let it go and says he got to hang out with Ric Flair. Kingston says Flair has the best catchphrase, which makes Bryan even angrier.

Match #3: Six-Man Tag Team Match: Kofi Kingston and Team Hell No vs. The Prime Time Players and Wade Barrett
Kingston and Titus start the match. Kingston goes after Barrett, but Titus attacks him from behind. Titus tosses Kingston back into the ring, where he and Young go at it. Kingston tags in Bryan, who delivers some kicks to Young. Bryan kicks Young down in the corner and stretches him out in the middle of the ring. Bryan tags in Kane, who takes Young down with a dropkick and gets a two count. Kane elbows Young and kicks him down in the corner. Kane tags in Bryan, who dropkicks Young in the corner and gets a two count. Bryan stomps away on Young again, but the referee pulls him off of Young, which allows Young to drape Bryan across the top rope. Young tags in Barrett, who comes in and stomps away on Bryan. Barrett pounds away on Bryan in the corner and gets a two count on a pin attempt. Barrett gets Bryan in a headlock, but Bryan gets free and tags in Kingston. Kingston springboards off the top rope and takes Barrett down. Kingston connects with a dropkick and then hits the Boom Drop. Kingston sets up for Trouble in Paradise, but Young distracts him and Barrett clotheslines him to the floor. Titus tosses Kingston into the barricade and then back into the ring. Titus applies an abdominal stretch in the middle of the ring, but Kingston gets out. Titus keeps the offense going and tags in Young. Young drops Kingston with a side slam for a two count. Kingston tries to fight back, but Young keeps control and tags in Barrett. Barrett takes Kingston down and gets a two count. Barrett tags in Young, who takes Kingston to the top rope. Kingston fights back and plants Young with a tornado DDT from the top rope. Kane and Titus get tagged in and Kane takes Titus down and clotheslines him in the corner. Kane side slams Titus for a two count. Kane goes up top and knocks Young down to the floor. Kane goes for a clothesline from the top, but Titus moves and connects with the Clash of the Titus before Bryan breaks up the count. Barrett tosses Kingston into the ring post and Kane takes Barrett down. Titus takes Kane down form behind and tags in Young. Bryan grabs Titus and pulls him to the floor and Kane chokeslams Young for the pin fall.
Winners: Team Hell No and Kofi Kingston.

We take another look back at Big E Langston’s debut on Raw last night. We see Sheamus and Cena talking backstage. Cena says they have to focus on tonight. Cena says Langston is probably the strongest guy in the WWE. Sheamus says that sounds like his kind of fight. Cena laughs and walks away but Sheamus pulls him back and asks about him and AJ. Cena is hesitant, but then whispers it in Sheamus’ ear and Sheamus has different facial expressions for what Cena tells him. Sheamus asks him really, and Cena says he is just kidding.

CM Punk’s music hits, and the 394-day reigning WWE Champion makes his way to the ring with Paul Heyman. Punk says in twenty years when everybody looks back and calls him the greatest WWE Superstar of all time, the WWE Universe couldn’t name him the Superstar of the Year. He says the WWE Universe turned the Slammys into a sham of a popularity contest. Punk says the same people who voted for Cena are the same people who enroll their children in the t-ball leagues where score is not kept. Punk says it was proven that not only should women not be allowed to vote, but it was proven that men shouldn’t be allowed to either. Punk says in the world, there are winners like he and Heyman, and losers like everyone else. Punk says Cena had no business giving his Slammy to Ric Flair. Punk tells the fans to keep cheering the old guys that hold the younger guys down. He calls Flair a loser. Punk says he is a real man and is here two weeks after emergency knee surgery. Punk says he doesn’t go on strike and doesn’t have an off-season and has carried the WWE on his back. He says no one is beating him for the WWE Championship, and Ryback’s music hits and he makes his way to the ring. Heyman tells Ryback that he knows Punk is not cleared to wrestle. Ryback says the doctors say Punk will be cleared soon, and he says he will become the WWE Champion on the first Raw of 2013.

Match #4: Antonio Cesaro vs. Ryback
Cesaro gets Ryback in a headlock, but Ryback sends him to the outside. Cesaro regroups on the floor as Ryback leads the crowd in a “Feed Me More” chant. Cesaro tries to sunset flip Ryback to the mat, but Ryback stops him and slams his head into the mat a few times. Cesaro comes back with an uppercut and sends Ryback off the ropes, but Ryback takes him down with a Thesz Press. Ryback splashes Cesaro and sets up for the Meat Hook Clothesline. Cesaro leaves the ring, but Ryback goes out after him and lifts him above his head. Cesaro gets free and shoves Ryback into the steel steps. Cesaro gets Ryback in the headlock in the center of the ring, but Ryback gets free and shoves Cesaro into the corner. Cesaro moves out of the way and dives off the top rope and takes Ryback down. Cesaro gets Ryback in another headlock, but Ryback fights out and takes Cesaro down with a clothesline and a back-body drop. Ryback slams Cesaro to the mat and sets up for the Meat Hook clothesline. Ryback connects with it and sets up for Shell Shocked. He connects with it for the pin fall.
Winner: Ryback.

We take a look at a video package of The Miz learning how to fly an F-18.

We see Kaitlyn walking backstage when AJ Lee walks up and wishes her good luck. Kaitlyn gives her a look and AJ asks her what the look was for. Kaitlyn says AJ does this over and over again and it makes it really hard to be her friend. AJ starts crying and Kaitlyn shows concern, but AJ stops suddenly. Kaitlyn says she has a title match and AJ needs help. AJ attacks her and they go at it before referees break them up.

Match #5: WWE Divas Championship Match: Eve Torres (c) vs. Kaitlyn
Eve takes Kaitlyn down with a clothesline and slams her head into the mat a few times. Eve connects with a clubbing blow and then stands on Kaitlyn’s face. Eve flips onto Kaitlyn and gets a two count. Eve uses the ropes for her advantage and kicks Kaitlyn to the outside. Eve slams Kaitlyn’s head into the apron and tosses her back into the ring for a two count. Eve applies a submission, but Kaitlyn fights out. Eve comes right back and takes Kaitlyn down and applies the submission again. Kaitlyn fights out and rolls Eve up for a two count. Eve tosses Kaitlyn into the corner, but Kaitlyn moves and comes off the top rope and gets a roll up for two. Kaitlyn slams Eve down to the mat and then drops her again with a neck breaker, but Eve kicks out at two. Kaitlyn kicks Eve off of the apron and down to the floor and then dives out and takes her down. Kaitlyn slams Eve’s head into the announce table and then tosses her back into the ring. Kaitlyn goes up top, but Eve grabs the referee and takes him down, causing the disqualification.
Winner by disqualification: Kaitlyn.

We go backstage and AJ is pleading her case to Ziggler. He says Kaitlyn is jealous because AJ is with a future World Champion. Show says Ziggler will spend Christmas in a body bag if he tries what he did last night. Show says that if Ziggler tries to set him up tonight, he will KO Punch him so far into the future, by the time he wakes up his contract will have expired.

We take a look back at Raw last night when Sheamus and The Big Show shook hands and then Sheamus laid him out with the huge chair and a Brogue Kick. We also see when Ziggler tried to cash in Money in the Bank before Cena stopped him.

Match #6: Brad Maddox vs. Brodus Clay (w/Cameron and Naomi)
Clay slams Maddox down and delivers a couple of headbutts to Maddox’s back. Clay slams Maddox down again, but Maddox rolls to the ropes. Clay goes after him, but Maddox drapes Clay over the middle rope. Maddox kicks Clay in the head, and gets a two count on a pin fall attempt. Maddox argues with the referee and Clay takes him down with a big clothesline and then splashes him in the corner. Clay tosses Maddox across the ring and charges with a headbutt. Clay hits the Funk It Splash for the pin fall.
Winner: Brodus Clay.
After the match, The Shield comes out and attacks Brodus Clay.

Match #7: Dolph Ziggler and The Big Show (w/AJ Lee and Big E Langston) vs. John Cena and Sheamus
Cena and Ziggler start the match. Cena takes Ziggler down with a forearm shot and Ziggler tags in Show. Cena goes right after Show, but Show shoves him down to the mat. Show keeps the offense going and smashes Cena on the mat. Show punches Cena in the midsection and walks across his chest. Show stalks Cena and delivers a headbutt. Show tags in Ziggler, who drops ten elbows on Cena and gets a two count. Ziggler drops Cena with a neck-breaker and then applies a headlock. Cena fights out and connects with a back-body drop. Ziggler tags in Show, who smashes Cena in the corner. Show tags in Ziggler, who launches himself at Cena in the corner. Cena moves and tags in Sheamus, who takes Ziggler down with a knee lift and then delivers his vintage ten clubbing blows. Sheamus delivers a right hand to Show and tries to lock Ziggler in the Texas Cloverleaf, but Ziggler sends him to the outside, where Show takes him down with a big clothesline. Show tosses Sheamus back into the ring and Show chops him across the chest. Show delivers some lefts and rights and pummels Sheamus down in the corner. Sheamus tries to fight back, but Show clubs him in the back. Show gives Sheamus a shot with his knee and applies a submission. Show tags in Ziggler, who continues to work over Sheamus. Sheamus fights back, but Ziggler drops him for a two count. Ziggler tags in Show. Show sets Sheamus up for a chokeslam, but Sheamus counters with a DDT. Cena and Ziggler get tagged in, and Cena connects with the Five Moves of Doom. Cena sets up for the AA, but Show gets in the ring and breaks it up. Sheamus clotheslines Show out of the ring and they fight up the ramp. Ziggler hits the Zig-Zag, but Cena kicks out at two. Cena hits a huge AA on Ziggler, but Big E Langston gets into the ring and attacks Cena, causing the disqualification.
Winners by disqualification: John Cena and Sheamus.
After the match, AJ Lee gets into the ring and skips around John Cena.

Smackdown comes to a close with Big E Langston standing over Cena as AJ skips around the ring and Ziggler stands tall.
