SPOILER: Changes to planned TLC main event

Reported by Adam Martin of Wrestleview.com

It was announced at the Smackdown tapings on Tuesday night in North Charleston, South Carolina that the originally scheduled CM Punk vs. Ryback main event for the WWE Championship in a TLC match has been called off. Instead Ryback will team with WWE Tag Team Champions Team Hell No (Kane and Daniel Bryan) against The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns) in a six man tag team match at the PPV on 12/16.

The change was a result of CM Punk undergoing surgery on his left knee on Tuesday in Florida.

Big blow to WWE (and thus wrestling in general, unfortunate as that is). If you missed a single show in the past month and a half you have no idea who one of the teams is that’s main eventing the PPV. Still, I give WWE kudos for pushing the Shield. More face time for Ambrose is good for a fan like myself.

The shield vs team hell no and ryback main event the ppv, not on Cena’s watch. Just like usual the ppv is going to end with a Cena match. Even if Punk didn’t get hurt I could easily still see it being on the card before Cena. If it doesn’t open the ppv, this match will probably be before whatever filler divas match they throw together and Cena vs Ziggler.
