Report: TNA kills February PPV, more changes possible

Reported by Adam Martin of Wrestleview.com

With the announcement last night that TNA would be changing the Lockdown PPV next year to March (it had been held every April since 2005) it left questions about what it meant for the PPV schedule in 2013. PWInsider.com is reporting that the February Against All Odds PPV has been removed from the schedule in 2013 and they will instead hold Genesis in January building into Lockdown in March. An additional one to two PPV events could be removed from the schedule in 2013, but nothing has been confirmed yet. TNA President Dixie Carter has stated publicly she was in favor of cutting back on the number of PPV events presented during the year, but that TNA had to commit to remaining contract obligations before that could be done.

Great Idea. Less PPVs equals more time to build up the excitement for them :)

  2. Hipnosis says:

YES!! a PPV every 2 months should be good in this economy and I hope like WHOLE F’N SHOW they replace them with Spike TV specials!

Get rid of Genesis not Against All Odds! Against All Odds has always had a decent show while the stink left by Hardy is still there with Genesis.

  4. Hipnosis says:

Jeff Hardy left “THE STINK” at victory Road 2011 lol

And this has WHAT to do with wrestling?

  6. Scott says:

Good call. WWE AND TNA should do 8 PPV’s max. Have 3 or 4 big events, then have 4 or 5 smaller PPV’s. Plenty of time to build something, instead of trying to cram stuff in a month’s time

  7. Ian says:

6 PPVs would be great, 4 would be even better…I have ALWAYS hated monthly PPVs because you end up with the same matches month after month…when WWE had their big 4 then 5 it was great because there was major build up to every PPV.

Ideally I would love to see TNA & WWE got to a 4 big PPVs / 2-3 smaller PPVs & 2 TV Supercards per year.

Hopefully less PPVs mean better quality TV shows.
