surely a sellout crowd 70,000 fans!

  2. cool arrow says:

That’s going to be one empty-ass building.

  3. vin says:

i do like tna and all but i mean come on, they are NOT gonna even come close to selling out that arena.

  4. loo s says:

Watch out Wrestlemania 3…..looks like your record is about to be broken…

  5. Jono K says:

How would they make any money off this? Sounds pretty dumb to me.

  6. Walrus says:

“Which only holds about 70000 fans” I legitimately lol’d at that.

  7. Scott says:

What’s gonna be more full, a WCW event in 2000 held in a dome, or this one?!? TNA, you are nowhere close to trying to do shows in domes.

  8. Steve B says:

as much as i love tna but when i saw this on impact i almost had a heart attack, r they crazy y would u book this huge ass building, they know they draw between 1500-2500 on these road ppv, i hope its a video error and its somewhere else like some college stadium. i hate to say but most likely will happen they better give out 60,000 free tickets to have a sell out but i doubt that also

  9. Hipnosis says:

TNA does a show in a bigger arena
this is why no one listens to the Internet

  10. Prince Dann says:

I sincerely hope with everything, they will get more than a few thousand. I hope they fill the majority. Realistically thinking, they wont. But I would love it if they did!

  11. Clayton says:

Although it makes zero sense, I did a little research and San antonio is trying to make the Alamo dome what it once was, renting the Alamo dome is just about the same price as other smaller arenas in the area

  12. Yea says:

Hopefully they fill enough seats…. man.. They need to really promote like crazy. Advertise it.

  13. Yea says:

Some people just want to watch the wrestling world burn. Why so serious.

  14. Joey says:

Point of reference, ’97 Royal Rumble drew around 60,000. I’ve played in the Alamodome and seen a Saints game there, I find it hard to believe they would pack the house, though there should still be good attendance.

  15. havok says:

im all for tna events being in bigger buildings but come on babysteps tna, im sure they will get a good number of people for tna standards but damn near 70,000 i dont see it for a tna show

  16. Scott says:

Hipnosis, when most of us are talking about TNA should go into bigger arenas, we are talking about going from their little sound studio in Orlando to at least decent sized arenas. Making the jump from their Orlando studio and 3-5 thousand seat arenas for certain PPV’s to a 70,000 seat stadium… that’s too big a jump. Maybe years down the road if TNA can continue to build a following, maybe doing something like this wouldn’t be a half bad idea, but right now… they better have the free tickets ready

  17. Fisha695 says:

Pretty sure it’s gonna be in the Illusions Theater which while in the same physical building it is technically not “in the dome” (as in the sports field).

Either that or if it’s in the dome itself it’ll be in a setup like the Arena Football (and basketball? not sure don’t watch the NBA) field is setup.

  18. Raym407 says:

I watched a basketball game there years ago, they have curtains to block off areas. They could make it small. They probably got cheap rent due to the new arena.

  19. Nathan says:

Once again when TNA does a few small things right they do one HUGE thing wrong. This is a bad Idea and Dixie Carter is a MORON for letting this happen (Even though she is a moron anyway) but this decision takes the cake for stupidity.

  20. Mark says:

I live in San Antonio, there no way TNA will use the dome setup. Like Fisha said it will probably be the illusions theater setup which is used for concerts….essentially they put a curtain up and only use a portion of the stadium. WWE has a hard time selling out PPVs here and does alot of papering for their events here, I can only imagine how bad TNA is going to draw for this event here ;/

  21. Mark says:

@Clayton, most larger events like concerts and wrestling use the AT+T center here because it is newer and has better acoustics. The Alamodome was built in the mid 90s when the city was hoping to land an NFL team, the Spurs used to play there but the Alamodome is so big it is not good for basketball. The dome is outdated and doesnt have many events anymore which would probably be the reason for the low price to book it.

  22. Chunky Lover says:

ohh wow, Shawn Michaels home town too. Should be a wonderful event with a packed house. A historic wrestling evening. Mark my words about that.

  23. Scott says:

Even with the “Illusions Theater” setup, having something like that in a dome?!? I still see this as a big fail
